Several reports have the Sixers about to hire ex-Houston GM Daryl Morey as head of basketball operations. He's got a rep as someone who likes a smaller lineup with players who can shoot threes.
Could this put Joel Embiid and/or Ben Simmons on the trading block, especially given their lack of chemistry with each other?
@nwhawkfan I think Simmons is gone for sure. Jojo can hit a 3. We will see.
I haven't looked when the next bumper crop of superstars become free agents. I don't think Philly competes any time soon ditching both of them.
I think Philly moves Simmons. He has the more limited upside unless he develops a perimeter shot.
Simmons needs to be surrounded by four shooters. Embiid needs to be surrounded by multiple shooters as well. That makes it hard for them to play together, even though they are both tremendous talents.

Simmons and Horford for Sexton, Love, and Drummond.
Simmons for Kyrie Irving. Pairing Simmons with a guy like Durant, and Kyrie with a PnR partner like Embiid could make both teams much better. Brooklyn would be nasty defensively with the size and versatility of Simmons and Durant. Kyrie would benefit from having an interior scorer to play off of.

Philly has to move one of them (Embiid or Simmons) because they don't work together at all. Bad teams won't take Horford's contract because there's too much time left on it.
One interesting possibility I've seen is deal between Houston and Philly that centers around swapping Horford and Eric Gordon. Houston needs a low post threat and Horford's game would be a nice for with Harden and Westbrook and Eric Gordon would give Philly a shooter that they need.

Jo Jo ended up with 27 points and 10 Rebounds tonight. - - Averaging 28 - 12 so far the guy is just crazy
