You got to be encouraged , yes were behind but we ARE making strides. k obviously our defense isn't there yet but you can still see flashes even with them. I like Coach L , I think he has made strides in his 1st year with no spring practice or whatever the hell it was lol. Give this guy a full yr with the team , a full recruiting cycle - be interesting how we fare in the portal, how many of these Seniors will come back for that extra yr. Heard there gonna be some.

Think Lance is gonna bring some fans back , just love the guys approach , think we FINALLY got it right with a Coach. I'm actually looking forward to next year. - Think some teams are going to start to realize we are not going to be that automatic pushover anymore

This is so frustrating. Our guys are generally in the right spot (or pretty close). Just not enough there to wrap up and tackle in good position.

Still plenty on the offseason rebuilding to-do list...tighten up the defense, for one. The offensive line has improved the last few games, but still a ways to go as well. And I like Daniels, but he needs to know when to eat the ball and not try to force passes.

Credit to him on that last TD though.

Leipold will get KU there. The evidence is there as KU was very competitive in its final 3 games and 4 out of the last 6. KU was also one of the least penalized teams in the country which is a positive sign.

KU's defense forced 8 turnovers over the last three games. Jalon Daniels has appeared to emerge as a clear cut starter going into the off-season which is something KU hasn't had a very long time. Devin Neal has emerged a top level back.

Leipold and staff obviously still have work to do on both sides of the ball, but there's a lot of positive things to build on this off-season.

If Devin Neal was healthy vs. TCU and W.V. we had a great chance to win those games. W. V. had 261 rushing to our 87.

So, we have a few pieces of the puzzle to be competitive with the bottom tier of the league. That is a step in the right direction. I hope Coach Leipold and staff mature and stop feeling they have to gamble on fourth down in our own territory. Maybe better punting and a better defense will solve the gambling problem. Clearly, there is more optimism with the direction of the football program now than with Miles or Beaty. Thanks to my fellow KU Football posters for your thoughts and comments this year. I do enjoy the information and comaraderie we share here.
