Joel Embiid

Watching Wizards and Sixers today and rooting for the Wizards...

Embiid reminds me of Shaq. A freakishly large man who is decent at basketball but not fast enough or agile enough to do much that is enjoyable at this stage. His footwork is good. His basketball IQ is high. His midrange is nice. But he travels, begs for and gets calls, and is a threat to injure someone on any given night.

Jo Jo my man is a Beast. - -gets beat up on a lot can hit the three, and for sure no joke - -very legit one of the better bigs in the league , shoot who DOESN'T TRAVEL in the NBA it's a joke. just like the continuation in the NBA AND College is a joke.

Players be driving the lane get fouled take another two-three steps shoot and they call the bucket AND the foul what the hell is that., Gotta say hard disagree on DECENT JO Jo is better then decent

JoJo En Fuego ! He lights up Orlando for 50.

17 of 23 from the field, 15 for 17 from the line, with 12 rebounds.

That man again. 42 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks against the Pelicans. Devonte out with a sore ankle.

Up there with LeBron & Giannis for the league scoring lead among active players. Durant a bit ahead of them all, but he's down for the next few weeks with a sprained MCL.

Jan 26, 2022 12:49 PM #6

He only scored like that because Devonte missed the game!

It is a pity that Phila is wasting his prime years by not getting adequate players around him.

Exactly they have got to ge him some help. - -Mercy what a beast love the guy to death but can't do it all by himself. - I think his average I saw yesterdy was like 28.1 and right at 10 rebounds per pretty decent for sure

When they got Simmons I thought they were going to become a vicious two headed monster that would run roughshod over the league for a decade, and adding aging veterans who wanted to play for a winner. Really a shame to see.

Jan 26, 2022 07:12 PM #10

Sixers GM Morey is holding out for a top-tier superstar in any Simmons deal. A lot of the buzz is about James Harden, but that'd likely be an off-season trade.

As much as I enjoy watching Joel put up big numbers, it'd be better for the team if he didn't always have to carry the bulk of the scoring load.

When they got Simmons I thought they were getting a me-first narcissistic idiot who would abandon any pretense of caring about being on a team.

I win!

I agree with you yet they need to do something with Simmons he is still on the roster right? - -he is of no good we need to get something for him to help Jo Jo

That's obvious now, but I saw him play in person frequently at LSU and it didn't look like a narcisistic idiot but a guy who just wanted to play in the NBA instead of being forced to going to college. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him play that year.

Jan 27, 2022 03:31 AM #14

@wissox Then he shouldn't have gone to college. No one is forced to go, but if you do, you should stick it out and actually pretend to be a student. (We have had this discussion before.)

We just got a new (shelter) dog, and our friends gave us a kerchief for him to wear. So we sent her a picture literally 2 minutes ago to show how much we appreciated it.

@wissox's comment requires me to post it here:

Huh , just read an article on Jo Jo. Seems like he was playing the Pelicans the other day , and there was a foul between him and Pelican s Guard Garrett Temple-- the foul dropped Temple to the floor and this other Pelican Guard took acception to the foul - now remember Jo Jo is 7 ft and like 280 the article states and this guy was like just over 6 ft and 180 - -bumpin Jo Jo and taking not kindly to the foul.

Both got T'd up but Jo Jo said he didn't take exception saying this guard Jose Alvarado - liked his energy , Liked how hard he played , & liked how he wasn't backing down lol . Said he just told Alvarado to keep playing hard as Alvardado was o a 10 day contract - -but update he got signed - -Bottom line Jo Jo paid Alvarado's fine for the T that Jose got. Jo Jo said he felt it was the least he could do seeing as how Jo Jo was the one who caused him to get the T -- not quite sure the level of the T but the least amount was like 2,000 collars - -Jo Jo paid it - -Good for Jo Jo

@mayjay boy I bet defense attorneys were glad to see you when they walked into your courtroom!

@wissox It was certainly weird when they patted my head....

Was wondering how much Joel would see the ball once Harden got there. So far so good after tonight's debut.

Embiid with 34, Harden 27 (with 12 ASSISTS !) as Philly clobbers the T-Wolves.

Tough loss for Joel to the Bucks tonight. Giannis blocked what would've been his game-tying shot and the Sixers lost by 2. Refs initially called it goal tending but overturned the call after video review. He went 29-14-7, while Giannis scored 40 with 14 boards and six assists.

He still has plenty to cheer about this week though. Not only is KU in the Final Four, but his Cameroon soccer team qualified for the World Cup today on a late goal in the last minute of extra time. (What a cool team nickname..."The Indomitable Lions.")

by 2 tonight
