Stepping Away
Mar 15, 2022 05:56 PM #1

Hi gang. Haven't been able to post lately. Wish I could join in the conversations, but I've had to step away for a while after the sudden passing of a close friend earlier this month. As I help his family and friends deal with the loss, chatting about sports just hasn't felt that important these days. Times like these make you realize what really matters.

I hope that sometime soon I can return to the board and share my comments. Meanwhile, everyone take care, and be sure to give a hug to your loved ones.

Best of luck to the Jayhawk men's and women's teams. Rock Chalk.

So sorry for your loss. Getting older has certainly changed my priorities as well. Godspeed to your dear friend. We'll keep your spot warm until you return. Rock Chalk!

@nwhawkfan I sympathize with your grief. I also learned that my stepson passed away last night. The KU Buckets board is a definite help in coming to grips with this loss. In that respect, A BIG THANK YOU to my fellow Jayhawk fans.

It's been a lousy couple weeks. Hang in there, @jessejayhawk and @nwhawkfan , and everyone else too.

@nwhawkfan @jessejayhawk

I am deeply sorry for your losses. I lost my father in July. I took care of him and his loss has made a gigantic hole in my life. Add in Covid and now war... I definitely have a different appreciation for everything, including Jayhawk basketball!

It's been a great ride in here and I'm looking forward to future years with all of you! Thank you for helping fill my space with fellowship!

@jessejayhawk oh gosh! You never know what somebody is going thru. I'm very sorry. Nothing worse than losing a child.

Very sorry for your losses @nwhawkfan and @drgnslayr and @jessejayhawk

Hopefully this tournament brings some joy your way

@nwhawkfan I'm sorry for your loss. And glad to see you have your priorities in order. In the big picture, a bunch of guys tossing a ball around really isn't too important. I tell my family and friends that I love them all the time - you just never know.

@drgnslayr

Sorry sorry about your dad. My best to you and your family.

Hello again. As I return to the board, just a quick and heartfelt Thank You to everyone for your kind words and condolences while I was away. Your support is much appreciated. In return, I want to pass along my own condolences and support to those of you dealing with your own personal losses.

Nice to know that social media can be used for healing and positive things...not always the case these days.

Of course, KU's run to the Final Four has helped a lot as well. Look forward to joining my fellow Bucketeers online this week as the Hawks go for it all in New Orleans. "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!"
