LAWRENCE – Kansas football coach Charlie Weis unveiled a last-minute addition to the roster on Thursday morning, adding former Maryland receiver Nigel King to the program.
King (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) graduated from Maryland last week and will be eligible to play this season. He was listed as a backup on the first depth chart of fall camp, released Thursday as players reported to Lawrence. The Jayhawks begin practice on Friday.
“This all happened fast,” Weis said on Thursday, as he met the media for the first time this season.
