Yep
Best player in a finals game last night. D in the nba !! (Playoffs and finals is when the guys play hard D, not so much during the interminable schlepathon of the 82 game regular season) He’s going to get a championship ring this year. I have to imagine that he is thinking about Coach self a lot when he’s out there.

Also interesting to reflect on whichever team wins the National Boring Association title this year adding up all the losses just in the playoffs.. Celtics have lost NINE GAMES so far, golden state EIGHT.

The team that wins the NCAA tourney Has to win SIX IN A ROW, no losses allowed. Hell, most teams who win the dance don’t lose eight or nine games all season long. Such a completely different game and league.

Steve Kerr figured out Andrew Wiggins and what made him tick. Steph Curry has helped him embrace the player he always was. It was pretty amazing seeing how locked in Wigs was last night.

The dunk was literally an "In your face!"

It's crazy to think he's only 26. His best basketball could still be ahead of him.

Wiggins needed to get out of Minnesota and into a situation where he didn't need to be the alpha of the team because his on court personality is not an alpha and that was evident even during his year at KU. Being with the Warriors and that group has taken so much pressure off of him to be the alpha and has allowed him to grow into his game and become the star that he can be.

Wiggs has really come into his own during these playoffs. Not just against Boston but the series before he was REALLY good. So happy for him

Wiggins is adapting well to GS basketball. Playing great alpha-ball from a technical/artful perspective and leaving thugball to Drama-Draymond. His athleticism is off the charts but he only uses part of it to make plays while the rest is for self-preservation. I don't blame him. Hard to imagine playing above the rim when a 250-lb opponent mugs you sending you to a crash on the court. I definitely appreciate his talent and his focus for self-preservation. Every once in a while he sees a safe path and then we get to see one of his eye-popping rim smashes.

@Kcmatt7 27 but yeah, Curry Thompson and Green are 34, 32, and 32 respectively. Wiggins is setting himself up to be the bridge to championship aspirations for GS

GIVE HIM MVP YOU COWARDS

Jun 17, 2022 03:03 AM #15

Wiggs getting that ring! Couldn't be happier for him!

Jun 17, 2022 03:11 AM #16

Happy for Wiggs, but Steph earned that Finals MVP this year. 31ppg, 6rpg, 5apg for the Finals for Steph.

Jun 17, 2022 03:12 AM #17

Well, I'm not too upset he didn't get series MVP. Not quite as good offensively, but tonight he did it with defense.

I'm guessing that he'll gladly trade that MVP award for a ring.

Not a bad day overall. Another Jayhawk gets an NBA title. My two favorite cities both get World Cup games in '26.

Heck, Gary Woodland even shot under par in his first round at the U.S. Open ! (Though he did blow a gimme putt on his last hole.)

Time for a nightcap y'all! RCJH !

Pretty good year for Wiggins. Allstar starter, KU natty, NBA championship.

If golden state decides to bring Wiggins back

Congrats Wiggs! Better for him that he didn't get Finals MVP. Stay humble and hungry. Earn that extra title in the future when he takes the helm of a team like Curry has.

Awesome to see Clay get another ring, too. I can so relate to his comeback and how much suffering/sacrifice he went through to get back on the big stage.... even having to battle through G league.

Even though Wiggs had a very solid NBA playoff - -he wasn't MVP good. Steph had that pretty well locked down , even though I will say Wiggs play a prety dam good all around game. - -Scoring , defending, rebounding. Clay wasn't in consideration a he was up and down - -Green was ehhhh not really all that those for GS were the really the only one's you might consider

Wiggs is fine and his ring is something that he can always look back at and appreiate - - just glad he found a home. - Bad fit at Minnesota - -just wasn't working

Jun 17, 2022 06:58 PM #23

Wiggs was pretty damn close to MVP good! Good enough they were talking about it in game 5.

Jun 17, 2022 07:40 PM #24

@Crimsonorblue22

I hope he sticks with GS and stays healthy. Give him a little time... GS still looks like a contender for years to come, especially with the young talent they have.

Did you hear the Wigg's interview after the game? He still sounds humble and reasonable. From what I read and heard about this particular GS team... everyone found a high-level of humility and reality because of Clay's recovery situation (plus going back to the couple years the team tanked without him). Even Draymond learned a thing or two because of Clay... and I thought he was incapable of learning anything!

@drgnslayr absolutely. GS and San Antonio top the short list of where i want our guys to go.
