Jalon Daniels

Sounds like Daniels hurt his AC joint in his shoulder which is the same injury Bryce Young is dealing with at Alabama. Looks like KU is going to have to go with Bean in Norman and possibly longer depending on the severity of the injury.

With full weeks practice let's hope Bean can guide us to victory, it will be monumental.

That's about a worst case scenario for Daniels. Thankfully Bean is a more than capable option that won't change much for KU's approach and play calling.

@FarmerJayhawk This is not the best news I've ever heard...

Agreed and maybe possibly on the run option actually I think they say Jason a little faster then Jalen but Jalens arm gonna be missed for sure

Is Leipold playing coy with Daniels status by calling him doubtful this weekend, or did some people jump the gun about Daniels being out for the year?

100% the latter. Boyer went rogue on the story. LJW canned him for it it appears

Has there been any news about a timeline for his recovery/return?

For real?

Matt Tait says: Zac Boyer, a former employee of @KUSports who has done freelance work for us recently, tweeted Daniels is out for the year. That info wasn’t submitted to us & didn't go thru our reporting process.

I like the emphasis on former.

from that tweet - - that picture - - -sure doesn't look like he is hurting - -THAT BAD. Arms raised huge , huge grin. Has anybody heard anything different today ?

@jayballer67 I'd sure be interested. I thought this might be a big story either way - out for the season or a few games - but I can't find much of anything. I guess it's just KU.

That didn't age well...lol.

Watching him run helter skelter all over the field for 5 games I kept thinking that young man is going to get busted in half. Unfortunately the modern style QB that Jalon reminds us of is prone to lengthy injury delays.

Oct 14, 2022 02:20 PM #18

@wissox Hopefully he is spending some time during rehab watching film of QBs who throw the ball away instead of trying to find a way to advance the ball through 3 defenders.

Oct 14, 2022 02:25 PM #19

@mayjay I know that quote didn't come from Mahomes. "QB's who throw the ball away....."

He’s back.

Did he say he is back for sure ? - - I know it sounds like Bean isn't or wouldn't be a go - -saying he did nothing today in practice.

Which means Jalen better be back - cause it would be either him or Vasko-- Heard he was really close but not sure

@jayballer67 I would bet a pretty good amount of cash Jalon plays against Texas 😎
