PRAIRIE VILLAGE — Charlie Weis has put a deadline on his team to show it’s worthy of fan support.

The Kansas coach, talking to a crowd of thousands on Friday during KU’s annual kickoff event at Corinth Square, said it was most important for KU fans to show up to the team's early games.

“I’m only asking for September,” Weis said during his seven-minute address. “You give me September, and I’ll give you a reason to come in October and November.”

Try to remember the kind of September
when life was slow and oh, so mellow.

Try to remember the kind of September
when grass was green and grain was yellow.

Try to remember the kind of September
when you were a tender and callow fellow,
Try to remember and if you remember then follow.

Try to remember when life was so tender
that no one wept except the willow.

Try to remember when life was so tender that
dreams were kept beside your pillow.

Try to remember when life was so tender that
love was an ember about to billow.

Try to remember and if you remember then follow

" Try To Remember * - Tom Jones

There Charlie - I gave you September. I'm not so sure about October, November and December though - here's the last part of the song:

Deep in December it's nice to remember
altho you know the snow will follow.

Deep in December it's nice to remember
without the hurt the heart is hollow.

Deep in December it's nice to remember
the fire of September that made us mellow.

Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow.

Nuleaf- you brought back one of my favorite memories.
Country club week and the Wheel. Not that your September song isn't a great one-it just precedes my college days,

I remember "See you in September" playing on the jukebox (the Frankie Valli & the four seasons version) like it was yesterday-heck I just listened to it on you tube.

Has it occurred to anyone else that an unpaid citizen volunteer using a random number generator to make head coaching decisions would probably have produced more wins than Coach Weiss? This statistical probability should be kept in mind by Sheahon Zenger before contracting to pay the next head coach many millions of dollars per year for five seasons.
