Figured it would happen by week 4, but it feels pretty damn good!! Especially considering all the injuries... same as all the other teams though. Nice to have a solid backup QB with world class speed

What a year. It has been so much fun to watch this team grow and compete this year. Lance and the coaches have done something absolutely remarkable. Three more games though. Would be nice to pick up another win or two.

I think one of Bill Self's favorite terms for soft applies to Missouri here. That's a match up that would've gotten me to drive up to Memphis and spend the money to go to that game. Much less likely I'll travel to Memphis now that that match up is seemingly off the table.

So the bowl people would honor that? Screw that, screw a bowl game at all!

My Nephew told me about this earler , thought it was crazy then - -then I come home get on my phone and story comes up : These guys are just CHUMPS , mercy. I guess earlier when Texas announced they was headed to the SEC - Some offensive Lineman -think his name was Cook, mentioned making fun of Texas saying that if they could handle a HORNS DOWN then they probably could handle the SEC.

Sooo Texas responded after seeing Mizzery refusal - -Texas talking about how vastly improved KU was -then took their shot at Mizzery - -If your afraid to ply a bowl team -- them your probably not for the SEC lmao The article said this was KU Football Not Basketball - -talking about how not a good look for Mizzery lol

All I have to thse Chumps is: - -- -DON'T GET SCARED NOW - -Sissy boys , they just afraid of getting S - - - - - - - stomped and then hearing about afterward - - -should be just adding more to the fire next Saturdat

Hilarious. Misery fans are concocting all of these excuses why they're afraid to play us...lol.

Here is a news flash. - -I DON'T THINK K/State is ready for the likes of Alabama, K/State might be good BUT they are NOT Alabama good.

I think if nothing else this is going to be a wake up call and let them know your not there YET

Dec 07, 2022 02:57 AM #17

Tough multi-tasking, but I will be rooting for the sour grapes vs. Bama while I watch KU beat OSU.

Dec 07, 2022 05:56 PM #18

I anticipate that most of Alabama's starters will sit out. They may still play well against KSU, but the difference of the programs can be seen in how they are approaching this game.

Players go to K-State hoping to one day have a chance to match up with a traditional power like Alabama in a major bowl game. For KSU, that's a huge accomplishment, as it would be for KU.

Players go to Alabama to win national championships. That's all. For the Alabama players, this season was/is already a failure, and winning the Sugar Bowl won't change that. Bryce Young won't (and shouldn't) risk his draft status on a failed season. Alabama has already won 9 Sugar bowls. Winning a tenth without a national title on the line doesn't mean much for them.

Winning the Sugar Bowl for K-State would be potentially the greatest accomplishment in program history. It wouldn't even make the second shelf of Alabama's football trophy case.

It's the same as advancing to the Sweet 16 for a lot of college basketball programs. A lot of places would hang a banner and give a raise to their entire staff for getting to the Sweet 16. At KU, that's a down year. Sweet 16 is the floor expectation. Standing on stage hoisting a trophy on a Monday in April is the goal. Same for Bama football, except in football you already know whether you can achieve that ultimate goal right now. Bama can't.

@justanotherfan You are certainly correct about expectations, but for the players on 'bama who play, they could well be highly motivated to demonstrate their skills. Especially the second string guys who will get a lot more PT if a platoon of draft-elible starters bag it.
