LAWRENCE — Bill Self says catching up academically shouldn’t be an issue for incoming freshman Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, who will be a late arrival to campus after making his native Ukraine’s FIBA World Cup national team.
The 12th-year Kansas coach mostly isn’t concerned because of Mykhailiuk’s makeup, describing him as a “really, really bright kid.”
“I would still predict that he’ll be a 3.5 (GPA) student by the end of the semester,” Self said Monday at his Boy Scout Golf Tournament at Lawrence Country Club.
