For a long time we seemed to be plateaued at about 300-310 board rats. Now I notice the census is a bit over 400. Are we attracting some new folks, or has the recent update of the site simply counted who we already had more accurately?
If we are attracting new blood, then welcome to the hundred or so added Hawk-isti the last month or so.

@jaybate-1.0 Unfortunately the majority of the new accounts since upgrade this offseason are bogus accounts. I've deleted a bunch but more have been created I have yet to clear out. I think we're positioned well to get new traffic and I'm thinking about spreading the word if anyone wants to lend a hand with it.
Are the bogus accounts automated attacks, or something else? Or is it impossible to tell? Just curious.
@jaybate-1.0 They look fishy. I don't know why they were created, but I think anyone can see them if you look at the users list. I've banned a few IPs; the more permanent solution would be requiring email validation, which I tried, but that's when we ran into the problem with the emails (which I am hoping might be included in the fixes when i upgrade to latest this coming week). We'll see.

It's most-likely spammers. They've taken to blogs with the same tenacity they started with emails.
@approxinfinity Man, I hope you can see this post, as something happenned to my kubuckets acct, & unable to login from my work IP address (desktop), NOR from my laptop IP, for the last 2weeks or so... Im trying this post from my smartphone. Could it be that your recent anti-spam measures have affected some accounts from being able to login or reply?? The "reply" and "login" buttons were not responding, thus i could read posts, but couldnt post or reply or even login...so Ive been MIA...(help!!)

In the meantime if you get this can you try clearing cookies on your browser or trying a different browser and see if that works? Sorry this is happening to you.
