LAWRENCE – Discuss all you want the elements required for Kansas to play competitive football this season.

Essentially it will boil down to two variables – experience and quarterback play.

Throughout the fall, and as far back as spring drills, Montell Cozart was coronated as KU’s best quarterback.

He demonstrates leadership, he grasps the new spread attack, he throws the ball accurately, he possesses the skills necessary to pose a dual threat. At least that’s what we’ve been told.

Th receiving corps is much improved and experienced, and if Cozart can deliver the ball reliably, that is a 3-4 game swing right there. No question that losing the top two RBs is a serious blow, but this was the only position where KU was deep and if the up and coming players perform as expected, the running game should still be decent.
