LAWRENCE β€” Kansas coach Charlie Weis was his candid self when told by a reporter Tuesday that his players spoke openly about losing their focus against Southeast Missouri.

β€œThe players should just shut up. That's what the players should do,” Weis said with a half-grin. β€œThey should be happy they won the game. They don't need to comment on focus.”

Weis also took the opportunity to address another hot topic: KU fans leaving before the game was over. Though the official attendance was 36,574, more than half those people left early.

@Crimsonorblue22

As far as I can tell there were a lot more people at the end of the game than in previous years; I posted a picture in a different thread. For all fans to stay the entire game you have to win consistently, much like the basketball team does, Remember the better Mangino teams? Most (not all) fans stayed until the end; which is as good as it gets for football at KU.
