DURHAM, N.C. — Even before the season, Kansas coach Charlie Weis pointed to this game as a significant one for his team.

If there was a time for KU football to show this year was different, this was it. Go to Wallace Wade Stadium, take down a strong Duke squad and end a 24-game road losing streak that has hung over the program for a half-decade.

So no, this didn’t go as planned.

If anything, the Jayhawks only mirrored the incompetence of their last few teams in a 41-3 blowout loss to the Blue Devils on a cloudy afternoon in central Carolina.
