LAWRENCE — There’s no quarterback controversy yet, but Charlie Weis admitted Tuesday that he wouldn’t hesitate to go to backup Michael Cummings if Montell Cozart struggles in Saturday’s game against Central Michigan.
“All I know is whoever is going to give us the best chance to win this game, that’s who’s going to be in there,” Weis said during his weekly news conference Tuesday. “And right now we think that Montell gives us the best chance to win this game.”
The sophomore Cozart was ineffective against Duke, completing 11 of 27 passes for 89 yards with two interceptions.
