When Will The DVD Be Available?
Oct 28, 2014 02:28 PM #1

I've just come from the Kusports website. I was expecting lots of video from the 60th anniversary shindig, but only caught a few photos and story.

That makes me think someone will be producing a DVD from this milestone event.

Does anyone know if that is the case? It makes sense and when throwing in all that timeless footage on AFH, I know I'd line up to buy one!

Thanks for the link. I visited that page and they mention interviews... but nothing about showing historic building footage. I would think the focus would include the building itself. There are so many great historic photos and film going back to the construction and of course, on to some historic games. I think a lot of us would like to see interior shots through different time periods. I'd like to see the dirt track images and when they laid the floor in for the first time... stuff like that. Maybe material on the "pay heed" banner. It is always great to see old game footage from Allen.

Maybe I want too much. Does anyone know if there is a historic DVD on Allen available out there somewhere?

Here is an amateur (mini) version of what I'm looking for:

I have a picture taken from the stands during a 70's track meet complete with dirt track and raised bBall court. If I find it I will post it. Somewhere in dad's stuff there is some footage on 8mm film of same, My guess is they showed some footage of the construction like they did at late night last year.

Great!

I remember the indoor track when I attended KU in the late 70s. I lived just down the street from AFH and would go there in the wee hours of the morning because they often had open gym.
