What a happy day it must have been for Svi. After he would score he would point to his parents. Devonte looks like the only 12 year old on the team but Svi at age 17 must really miss being away from home. I'm glad mom and dad got to see the love that goes on in the Phogg and can take comfort in Svi being in this environment.

And by the way, welcome back lob feeder extraordinaire. He actually had six rebounds in the box score.

@wrwlumpy Devonte has to be a big part of what we do out there - we looked like 2008 at times yesterday. The steals, the runouts, the defensive pressure was incredibly good. Maybe this is the game we dub, "Perry finds a home" ...and it's not down on the box, it's beyond the perimeter ...lol...

Jan 11, 2015 03:43 PM #9

@wrwlumpy Devonte' is a STUD! Im soooo glad he is back in time for the meat grinder that is to come starting tuesday

Jan 11, 2015 03:48 PM #10

@wrwlumpy Oh! my question has been answered.

Jan 11, 2015 04:23 PM #11

@Lulufulu If Svi's height is correct, he's dad's about 6'3" - 6'4" and his mom is around 5'8". Wouldn't be totally surprising that their boy is so tall.

@wrwlumpy

Devonte also had 6 assists to go with his 2 points and 6 rebounds...

@wrwlumpy good one!!

Jan 11, 2015 09:22 PM #15

@wrwlumpy Lumpy, I was absent on this board for several weeks this past summer, so might have missed an explanation of who you are...better yet, how in all holy hell you gain access to these terrific photos. Can you step forth now to satisfy my curiousity?

Jan 11, 2015 09:26 PM #16

@REHawk you can find them on ku Twitter

Jan 11, 2015 09:32 PM #17

@wrwlumpy An equally important missing stat for DG, 0 TO's.

Jan 11, 2015 09:35 PM #18

@Kip_McSmithers Aw, jeez, does that mean I'd be forced to tweet and twiddle? If so, I will just await wrwlumpy's gracious copies and oftentimes colorful commentary. At one time I did learn to call up something called utube, but this facebook and tweet crap falls outside my aging inclinations.

You can look at Twitter without having an account. @kuhoops is the handle

@Kip_McSmithers Thanks, Kip. That was fairly easy to do, even for an old fart.

Svi's father told self "He can be a little up and down". Self said "Not too many have realistic expectations about their own. It doesn't happen often. It’s refreshing." Makes you wonder if he had Conner and his parents in mind when he said that.

Jan 13, 2015 08:15 PM #22

@JhawkAlum

I had higher expectations of Conner and while he did not disappoint, he did not particularly impress either.

Jan 13, 2015 08:22 PM #23

@JayHawkFanToo Agreed. Although I would like to think that I would have waited it out and been honored to play 15 minutes a game as a sophomore in a Jayhawk uniform, can't blame a guy who wanted to play more minutes in the game he loves.

Jan 13, 2015 08:37 PM #24

@JhawkAlum That was my exact thing. But that could just be the crimson and blue colored glasses. I would prefer to play 15 mins per game at a perennial power and THE greatest place to play college basketball over playing 25 mins at a smaller lesser known school. The name recognition alone playing for KU would have done wonders after graduation.
