hey guys did you happen to catch this? did anyone else see where we had a 4 star running recruit visit on campus this past weekend? ya, ya, ya, I know so what, very true I fully understand that. my only point here is when is the last time we had a 4 star recruit of ANY POSITION come to our campus for a visit? not just running back but ANY? I fully realize that getting some one of this caliber is like finding a snowball in the middle of august but still, who knows maybe JUST MAYBE coach beaty can get us some attention from some of these guys or his assistants, no matter how small this seems makes you wonder crawl before you walk guys GO HAWKS

@jayballer54 sounds good! Coach Beatty is definitely energetic and has the staff to keep up.

Traevohn Wrench last year was a four star commit. Ended up at Butler CC due to academics.

@Kip_McSmithers know anything about him? Thx!

Most sites have him listed as a CB and not a RB in college. He's Missouri's top ranked player. Ranked as #9 CB and #122 overall by Rivals. He's 6' and 190#s with a 4.4 40. So he's really 5'10" 175...

KU, KSU, ND, Oregon, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and a few others have interest or offered.

Interesting to see the recruiting train pick up steam and quality next season and beyond.

Love Beatty's way of talking, and his down-home Texas way of describing various recruits: "big ole kid", "skinny as a rail at 6'5 275lbs", and "runs downhill, will knock the fire right outta ya".

Im on board because Im almost always on board. The only time I had to step off the KU football train and take 3 deep breaths was during the Turner Gill era.

We can thank Lew Perkins for what happened to Mangino, and for even contemplating hiring a no-cred guy like Turner Gill. Instead of hiring a recruiting guru to add to Mangino's staff so as to start adding 4star, 5star kids to what Mangino had built (to make us real contenders, even against the then-BigXIISouth), no we decide to replace our tough/results coach with a guy who was "soft" (to borrow a Self quote...). So I hope Lew is happy with the chapter of KU's football history that he directly helped to write...

Pretty sure we signed a four-star LB last year. It's not as uncommon as you might think.
