The Cleveland Cavaliers have Sasha Kaun in their radars for next season.

The big man will likely leave CSKA Moscow in July and may land in the NBA where he was selected by the Sonics with the 56th pick of the 2008 Draft (He was the final draft pick in Sonics history, before the franchise moved to Oklahoma City).

The Cavaliers acquired Kaun’s NBA rights for cash consideration and they are thinking to bring him overseas. Kaun, born in 1985, is a product of Kansas and is averaging 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in Euroleague this season.

Kaun has been coached by Blatt with Russian National Team and won the bronze medal at Olympic Games in London.

The center would team up with another Russian big, Timofey Mozgov. According to sources, Kaun already informed CSKA Moscow he will leave after the season.

@RockChalkinTexas that would be awesome!

Mar 19, 2015 06:01 PM #3

For a moment there I had visions of Sasha having another year of eligibility left and coming back to KU.

Mar 19, 2015 06:02 PM #4

@brooksmd and be here by tomorrow!

Mar 19, 2015 06:03 PM #5

@brooksmd need to visit about those visions😱😁

Mar 19, 2015 06:05 PM #6

@Crimsonorblue22 Visit who? BTW, ISU has their hands full with UAB. And to the announcers of the game, ISU is not the champion of the Big 12. They won the conference tournament. The psuedo Big 12 champ is Kansas.

Mar 19, 2015 06:06 PM #7

@brooksmd getting to watch on iPad for awhile! Go haase!!

Mar 19, 2015 06:08 PM #8

@Crimsonorblue22 Would like to see UAB win, but doesn't look good for psuedo Big 12 if teams go out early.

Mar 19, 2015 06:08 PM #9

@Crimsonorblue22 I heard the same thing, they love headlines, sounds better to mistate ISU as champs if they get upset. Uab killing it on the glass

Mar 19, 2015 06:10 PM #10

@Jayrawks1 Welcome to the board. Join us tomorrow for chat during the game.

Mar 19, 2015 06:13 PM #11

Thanks @brooksmd, no one wants to hear my overly emotional thought during the game, I take it out on my thera-putty my wife bought me lol

Mar 19, 2015 06:14 PM #12

@brooksmd these announcers know jack about us!

Mar 19, 2015 06:16 PM #13

@Jayrawks1 It's alright to get overly emotional, @Crimsonorblue22 gets close, but we get tired of the naysayers who dwell on losing.

Mar 19, 2015 06:17 PM #14

Agreed, they quicly study for the game in front of them. On a side not does anyone else notice Niang when he hands of the ball during the weave and then backs up backwards into the defense to set a screen, its a movimg screen. He did it more than 5 times against ku in the chamoionship game. Its cheap basketball and the refs let it go

Mar 19, 2015 06:18 PM #15

@Jayrawks1 he walks a lot too

Mar 19, 2015 06:19 PM #16

@brooksmd I am too much of a homer to dwell on losing

Mar 19, 2015 06:19 PM #17

Maybe he could play for KU this summer in the World Games?

Mar 19, 2015 06:20 PM #18

@Jayrawks1 💙❤️🏀

Mar 19, 2015 06:20 PM #19

@jaybate-1.0 I like that idea. Can he?

Mar 19, 2015 06:20 PM #20

He should get used to playing overseas, his game is made for it

Mar 19, 2015 06:20 PM #21

@jaybate-1.0 he can't not a USA citizen, like embiid or wigs

Mar 19, 2015 06:21 PM #22

@Crimsonorblue22 Wow, ND squeaked by.

Mar 19, 2015 06:23 PM #23

@brooksmd does everyone forget they lost to tt?

Mar 19, 2015 06:23 PM #24

This iowa state game is a great remimder that the tourny is ab matchups, not who is comimg in hot

Mar 19, 2015 06:23 PM #25

@brooksmd Baylor got their hands full with Georgia St.

Mar 19, 2015 06:26 PM #30

@brooksmd UAB losing some composure.

Mar 19, 2015 06:28 PM #31

@Crimsonorblue22

Maybe @VailHawk and The Director of the BIA ( i.e., the reputed but never verified Basketball Intelligence Agency) could take care of this little citizenship issue with a few phone calls to the State Department and Department of Immigration and Naturalization, plus a bottle of Stoli from President Frank Underwood delivered by First Lady Claire Underwood, to the Russian Premier, plus a carefully planted legend at KUBuckets.com that Sasha really is a USA citizen? :-)

Mar 19, 2015 08:36 PM #32

We sure could use Sasha...

Mar 19, 2015 10:09 PM #33

@RockChalkinTexas KAAAAAUUUUN!!!

Mar 20, 2015 02:04 AM #34
