Cheick Diallo 6'10 - PF - Kansas

A world class athlete among world class athletes. He is literally shot out of a cannon running up and down the floor. He runs the floor better than any player that I can recall. He is not super skilled but he is graceful and he knows how to finish. He rebounds like Dennis Rodman and he could be that type of player. To say he is an effort player would be discounting the effect that he can have on a game. If there is loose ball he will get it, if there is a fast break he will be the first guy down the floor, get sloppy with the ball and he will take it from you. You don't have to run any plays for him and he will still find a way to get 20 & 10 with offensive rebounds and run outs.

Guy is going to be a beast this year. I don't think people realize the big impact he will have on this team.

Cheick Diallo wins MVP @ NBPA Top 100 Camp [ESPN #10 c/o 2015]

Here is another MVP award Cheick earned.

@Statmachine

I like when Cheick dunks the ball he quickly turns around and sprints down court... something very rare in young players. Usually they want to look for a camera to do their King Kong chest beating impressions.

@drgnslayr He flexes his guns from time to time but 3 2015 camp MVP's is pretty dang impressive!

Makes me wonder about the whole Shoe company thing. Do you think if he was a Nike lean he would be ranked #1 in the 2015 class?

I think, and really hope, that this is the player I have been waiting for in the BIll Self KU years. I am very rarely excited or impressed with the typical run and gun offenses of the high school senior spring highlight games. But this kid Diallo...WOW! Bill's just gotta play this recruit from the getgo, unleash the chain and let him run. If our veterans can strive to adjust their game to him as much as he eventually will adjust to them, by late March? O MY!

@REHawk I'm thinking, with his motor HCBS will keep him on the floor unlike Cliff who had issues with putting out max effort each play. I am ready to see this kid in action and also waiting to see what the other guys on the team say after they have played a few pick up games with Diallo.

@Statmachine A durn shame he cannot play for us in S Korea!

First time I really watched any of his videos closely. Nice left hand, very fluid in transition, and he has a few pretty good post moves! Another thing too, it looks like he has played a lot against guys his size. I'm curious about him being able to hold his position and seal his man down low. But if he can't very well, he would be a good candidate for the Jeff Withey "slide off spot" (as @jaybate-1.0 named it) post moves.

Thanks @Statmachine for posting these videos and for all your post this summer about recruiting. I stopped checking all the other recruiting sites and just relied on you. You are definitely more accurate. Keep up the good work.

@Statmachine exactly right, about the max effort.
