Love jojo to death but it seems he's destined to be a bust if this injury never heels. And Oden is a perfect example of that. At least he gets paid his rookie contract. Sad

That sucks! Joel Embiid is the most physically gifted big man to come around since Hakeem, but it's looking more and more likely we'll never get to see him play up to that potential. This is the same injury that ended Yao Ming's career and severely limited Bill Walton's career. At this point, I would be happy to see Embiid have a Bill Walton type career.

@Crimsonorblue22 Damm damm damm!!! That really sucks.

I wonder if its a possibility to give him a bionic foot? You know, kind of like I Robot?

Jul 11, 2015 08:34 PM #5

@Lulufulu I'm thinking positive here! He had no pain, maybe a good sign?

Jul 11, 2015 08:40 PM #6

@Crimsonorblue22 No pain is definitely a good sign. I hope that he can play some day, some season. Injuries happen to a lot of the top athletes. Kyrie, KD, Rose, KLove, Blake Griffin, on and on. They all recover and get back on the court. Rose did it after 3 really bad injuries. JOJO has a good chance at seeing the court again, they just have to be super careful with his injury and healing process.

@Lulufulu 🙏 he has such a gift!

Jul 11, 2015 09:02 PM #8

@Lulufulu

Rose has not been quite the same and he seems unable to play an entire season. Perhaps Yao Ming would be a better comparison; he was able to play for a few years but eventually had to quit way too early due to the issue with his foot (heel?). I am sure the comparisons with Oden will come hot and heavy; I hope he can continue to heal and have at least a partial career.

Glad Embiid turned pro when he did ....

Jul 11, 2015 11:50 PM #10

@JayHawkFanToo Embiid hopefully will not have an alcohol problem as does Oden. Its not a fair comparison but I agree, it is one that will be made.

I will always be on JoJo's side and defensive of him. I met him after a preseason warm up game at AFH and he was very nice and very funny. I mentioned his lion killing and we had a good laugh at that. ;)

Jul 11, 2015 11:52 PM #11

@HighEliteMajor I was thinking the same thing man. He went to the league just in time, now he is a multimillionaire and set for life regardless of what happens in his career. I do hope its a good one though and that he can get totally healed and prove all his doubters wrong.

Jul 12, 2015 06:18 AM #12

This really sucks. Get well, big guy. When they all forget your name, come back with a healed foot, make Jahlil look pedestrian and claim your throne, Lion Killer.

Jul 12, 2015 06:46 AM #13

@HighEliteMajor

This is WHY guys go whenever they can, and why they should.

Injury is such a huge risk in sport.

EVERYONE gets injured in sport.

Its just some get injured in ways that don't end their careers.

But all injuries shorten careers one way or another.

When the money is there, you have to take it, unless your folks are independently wealthy.

Surgery is now a certainty ↗ and the talk of "career-threatening" condition has already started. I sincerely hope Joel recovers fully and proves the doubters wrong.

Jul 14, 2015 07:32 PM #15

More bad news! Trob has a small meniscus tear, surgery tmrw.

Jul 14, 2015 08:02 PM #16

@Crimsonorblue22

When i rains it pours. Having said that, TRob seems to be now ith a team that has been looking at him for a while. Hopefully recovery time will not be long. A little more info here ↗...

Jul 14, 2015 08:10 PM #17

@JayHawkFanToo I hope it's small!

Jul 14, 2015 08:10 PM #18

@Crimsonorblue22

Me too...

@InsideHoops: #Nets forward Thomas Robinson had knee surgery today and is expected to be ready for on-court activities before the start of training camp.
