I am not sure why MGM is involved. Isn't the school in question the one that would "own" the rights to the uniform? ...unless they sold those rights to MGM, of course...

Because Hickory was not a real team. They were portraying Milan High School. MGM created the Hickory Huskers, yes they were the Huskers not Hoosiers in the movie, therefore the Pacers needed MGMs permission to use the Team name and Uni's.

Glad they are doing it and bring one of the greatest sports movies back into light for a new generation.

I see what you are saying and you are absolutely correct; however, my poorly stated point was...wouldn't it be better to honor the real rather than the fictional team?
