ROYALS vs White Sox game 1 at Kauffman
Aug 08, 2015 12:03 AM #1

Ed Volquez gets the start for the Royals taking on Jon Danks for the Sox. First pitch abt 10 minutes away. Maybe a little more chatters on the site for this weekend. Good luck to our opponents board rats, but we hope to beat ya anyway...

Aug 08, 2015 12:09 AM #2

@globaljaybird Not going to be an easy game against Danks. Only 3 Royals are hitting over .200 against him, and of those 3 only 2 are over .250. On the other hand, CWS hitters have a little better success vs Volquez. Royals lived on luck this past road trip losing 6 of 10, but still managed to put 2 games between them and the Twins, who at the moment are winning their game tonight vs Clevland. @Crimsonorblue22 has abandoned us tonight for a cheap movie. PLAY BALL!

Aug 08, 2015 12:17 AM #3

@globaljaybird Nothing but love for Moose to field that ground ball cleanly with the big end of a broken bat flying at him.

Aug 08, 2015 12:22 AM #4

Esky, that's the one you should've swung at, not the one down and out.

Aug 08, 2015 12:24 AM #5

@Crimsonorblue22 would've loved the 3 bagger by LoCain. Two out and RISP with Hos up who first pitch fouls out.

Aug 08, 2015 12:25 AM #6

Whatever happened to taking the first pitch? Especially first at bat. Oh well, guess that's why they're playing and I'm complaining. After 1 it's 0-0.

Aug 08, 2015 12:30 AM #7

@brooksmd thx! Movie bout to start.win!!!

Aug 08, 2015 12:40 AM #8

After 2 it's still 0-0.

Aug 08, 2015 12:48 AM #9

At least the Royals aren't the only ones wasting base runners.

Aug 08, 2015 01:33 AM #10

Didn't waste that one...

Aug 08, 2015 01:34 AM #11

Royals break the ice in the bottom of the 5th with 2 outs. Moose on 1st and Rios lines to LF where the ball died under the wall padding instead of ricocheting towards the outfielder. There was no hesitation on sending Moose home who slid under high throw to the plate. Rios ended up at 3rd.

Aug 08, 2015 01:35 AM #12

@globaljaybird Wasn't no hesitation sending Moose home either.

Aug 08, 2015 01:36 AM #13

@brooksmd good throw Mighta had him...

Aug 08, 2015 01:37 AM #14

@globaljaybird Definitely. At first looked like it might sail over the catcher.

Aug 08, 2015 01:39 AM #15

Crap Esky!

Aug 08, 2015 01:39 AM #16

@globaljaybird You listening or watching?

Aug 08, 2015 01:44 AM #17

Mrs Moose and Mrs Duffy pretty cute.

Aug 08, 2015 01:49 AM #18

Wow what a play by da Moose.

Aug 08, 2015 01:52 AM #19

Short lived lead by the Royals as CWS get 1. All tied at 1 all. If not for a great play by Moose it would've been 2-1. Off balance, out of bounds to get the runner at first.

Aug 08, 2015 01:53 AM #20

@brooksmd we may be old but we ain't blind... Yeeaaaah !

Aug 08, 2015 01:53 AM #21

@brooksmd on Royals. TV network

Aug 08, 2015 01:54 AM #22

@globaljaybird You the high bidder on the Brett deal?

Aug 08, 2015 01:55 AM #23

@brooksmd in my dreams...

Aug 08, 2015 01:56 AM #24

@globaljaybird Nice to have some guys with some giddy-up.

Aug 08, 2015 01:56 AM #25

@globaljaybird Time to send Danks to the showers.

Aug 08, 2015 01:57 AM #26

Excellent by Hos. Take it to the open hole.

Aug 08, 2015 01:57 AM #27

@brooksmd nah, we need more...

Aug 08, 2015 01:58 AM #28

@globaljaybird I was hoping you was the high bidder so I could be one of your friends. :wink:

Aug 08, 2015 01:58 AM #29

No one out-big inning time...

Aug 08, 2015 02:00 AM #30

Kendrys missed his pitch twice...

Aug 08, 2015 02:02 AM #31

@globaljaybird At least he didn't go for the :poop: pitches.

Aug 08, 2015 02:03 AM #32

@globaljaybird A little later on that foul and that was 3.

Aug 08, 2015 02:03 AM #33

This week is the 22nd anniversary of Nolan Ryan's beat down of Robin Ventura. I watched that & laughed so hard I almost whizzed my britches.

Aug 08, 2015 02:14 AM #34

Our defense up the middle is about the best in the game...

Aug 08, 2015 02:27 AM #35

@globaljaybird You see the play a few games ago where Infante grabbed what looked like a hit up the middle, flipped it from his glove to Esky who grabbed barehanded and fired to first?

Aug 08, 2015 02:31 AM #36

Walkin Zobrist to face Cain maybe not a good idea.

Aug 08, 2015 02:33 AM #37

He got lucky. LoCain almost beat it. After 7 it's Royals 3-1.

Aug 08, 2015 02:35 AM #38

@globaljaybird said:

Wouldn't trade any of the infield occupants.

Aug 08, 2015 02:38 AM #39

Headed home, radio on

Aug 08, 2015 03:00 AM #40

Fill me in

Aug 08, 2015 03:07 AM #41

@Crimsonorblue22 We winnin 3-2

Aug 08, 2015 03:08 AM #42

@Crimsonorblue22 You missed a lot of great D and some very timely O.

Aug 08, 2015 03:13 AM #43

Zobrist got the official Salvy welcome to KC. And he stood there and took it like a man.

Aug 08, 2015 03:14 AM #44

Amazing, it looks like nobody has left. Great fans.

Aug 08, 2015 03:16 AM #45

@brooksmd You can say that again. Defense again holds a team at bay. Not a lot of O but there when it counted. Early start tomorrow so GN & keep the sunny side up !!

Aug 08, 2015 03:18 AM #46

@brooksmd so I leave u 2 alone and you're checking out the ladies😍😍😍

Aug 08, 2015 03:20 AM #47

@Crimsonorblue22 They offered them up showing the auction items. We may be old but doesn't mean we aren't appreciative. :wink:

Aug 08, 2015 03:21 AM #48

@brooksmd πŸ˜‰yeah I know u guys!!! So rios got a triple? Was worried we would be getting rid of him. Sounded like he had a good catch in rt.

Aug 08, 2015 03:22 AM #49

@Crimsonorblue22 Think I was out with the kids and missed it. LoCain had a good catch at the wall.

Aug 08, 2015 03:23 AM #50

@brooksmd Huge fireworks shows after every Friday night home game...

Aug 08, 2015 03:24 AM #51

@Crimsonorblue22 One of the key D plays was the one by Moose. If that ball had sailed over Hos CWS would still be running.

Aug 08, 2015 03:24 AM #52

I heard pregame that zobrist said 2nd was his best position.

Aug 08, 2015 03:26 AM #53

@globaljaybird Ok, plains why crowd not leaving. But I notice other games the crowd is slow to leave especially on a win. Ever see the fans at Dodgers games? Win, lose, draw, in first place or last, come the 7th inning they start leaving.

Aug 08, 2015 03:27 AM #54

@brooksmd our fans stay after away games!πŸ’™βšΎοΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Aug 08, 2015 03:29 AM #55

@Crimsonorblue22 That'd be tough. Infante has great D and Zobrist probably a better bat. Haven't seen him play 2nd so would have to see him in a couple of games to see what his D is like. But Esky and Infante is a combo I'd not want to mess with.

Aug 08, 2015 03:54 AM #56

@brooksmd agree, he said it takes awhile to get back after switching back and forth. Read someone said Gordon would have got a ball zobrist didn't, u c that?

Aug 08, 2015 11:21 AM #58

@brooksmd That's exactly why I had apprehensions abt bring Zobrist in. Up the middle-Salvy, Esky, Infante, Cain-we have absolutely the best defense in baseball. Plus Zobrist was 2nd baseman for the "no love lost Oakland A's" W/Lawrie at ss. I seriously doubt if he's on Esky's Christmas card list.

Aug 08, 2015 11:32 AM #59

@Crimsonorblue22 I'd be more inclined to think Zobrist will be the guy to give an infielder an occasional day off, or maybe Rios in rf especially vs right hand pitching. Zobrist carries big lumber & our pitching is not near as stable as last year. We're already missing Finnegan comin outta the pen. Ventura is a head case, Hererra has been wild, Holland can't get the ball down in the strike zone, & Davis is nursing back spasms like is Chris Young. Unfortunately our pitching woes is why we gave up so much for 2 guys (Cueto & Zobrist) that'll be free agents after 2015 Plus Gordon is free also & I doubt if they'll have enough dough to keep Gordo & Zobrist both, however Rios only has a one year deal in right. Zobrist really would fit right in the right field. After all that schpiel I'm just counting on Cueto being gone cause he'll be asking for ridiculous money on a long term contract.
