Detroit vs Royals - Game 2
Aug 12, 2015 12:53 AM #1

Hey, where's everybody at? Royals jump out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first off of a single by Cain and an opposite field dinger by Hos. Here's hoping Ace has a good nite on the hill and the Royals a good nite at the plate. Should note that Gordo was taking fly balls in the outfield prior to the game. Team is doing well so no since rushing Gordo back except to get him ready for post season. 2 - 0 Royals top of the 3rd with 2 outs.

@Crimsonorblue22 Big Mikie may miss his little sister. No matter where he laid down she would find him and snuggle up to him. Kind of odd to look in that corner of the room and not see her laying on her bed.

Aug 12, 2015 03:23 AM #68

@brooksmd what is Mikie and your other one?

Aug 12, 2015 03:38 AM #72

@brooksmd oh, an old pic of the 3 of them. Mikie is big! Part lab?

Aug 12, 2015 03:41 AM #73

Mylee looks like the boss?

Aug 12, 2015 03:42 AM #74

@Crimsonorblue22 He was a pound puppy and think he is part lab and part catahoula which I understand was bred here in Louisiana and is state dog. Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog.

Aug 12, 2015 03:46 AM #75

@brooksmd No we buried momma about 3 years ago. She was about a year old when she had gma so gma lived longer than momma.

Aug 12, 2015 03:48 AM #76

@brooksmd that's unusual, did she have cancer?

Aug 12, 2015 03:50 AM #77

@Crimsonorblue22 Mikie is the one who wants to climb in my lap when thunder and lightening starts.

Aug 12, 2015 03:50 AM #78

Aug 12, 2015 04:05 AM #82

@Crimsonorblue22 Read a story a few minutes ago about a man walking his Shih Tzu when 2 pits attacked. Killed the Shih Tzu. Owner bitten several times trying to rescue it. Somewhere in Florida and the city humane people want the pits declared dangerous. They got out of their backyard in a neighborhood with many small children. I'd sue.

Aug 12, 2015 04:50 AM #84

@brooksmd Whoever killed the pom should be in a mental hospital and do a frontal lobotomy.

Aug 12, 2015 05:21 AM #85

@brooksmd they scare me!

Aug 12, 2015 03:20 PM #86

@Crimsonorblue22 Our youngest son and his wife have one and haven't encountered any problems. In fact when she was just a pup they started taking her to local dog park and she has always interacted well. But when she's here I still keep a close eye on her and if we are dog sitting if we leave the house she always goes in a crate while we're gone.

@brooksmd My 35 year old has a pit & the Belgian also. I never ever take my eyes off of the pit when I'm around him even though he is always friendly & happy. He is just SOOOOOOO powerful...

3 decades ago a friend & neighbor who was a State Trooper was sitting on his steps & his families' poodle was about 20 feet away in the yard when 2 pit bulls came out of nowhere & literally tore the dog in half before he could get his service revolver from the house. Unfortunately 2 days later 2 pit bulls were found shot to death about a mile from our neighborhood. I might not carry that anguish quite so far myself, but that's slightly more humane than kicking one to death.

7-8 years later in a different neighborhood a pit escaped his yard & pinned a 4 year old girl to the side of a playhouse in the common area of our subdivision. I was 100 yards away & another neighbor was less that that & when she screamed we both raced towards them. The pit then turned on another dog & several of us had to literally beat him with rakes & shovels to get them apart. The little girl was unhurt as we were so quick to react, but the little dog was rushed to a vet immediately. Animal control took the pit away & he never returned.

Aug 12, 2015 07:26 PM #89

Many cities now ban pits and their owners are up in arms over it. Lots of debate between the side that says it is the breed and the one that says it is the individual dog. I personalty would not own one and I would strongly discourage any one with kids to own one. Cant' really blame the dog if it is in his genes, but I would not take a chance.

I believe that the sociopaths that killed the pom should be subjected to the same treatment they inflicted on the little dog...my Louisville Slugger and I would volunteer, 5 minutes is all I ask....

Aug 12, 2015 07:33 PM #90

@brooksmd I once got a half Catahoula & half Blue Heeler pup. Wanted a blue heeler since I was a kid-cowboy & rodeo dogs, very intelligent, extremely protective, absolutely fearless, very commonly used to heard 2000lb brahma bulls. Brought him home 8 wks & first 3 days shook wife's Poodle by the neck twice. Wasn't a good fit with Tish so I returned him. wanted a good watchdog when kids small & working nights &mended up with a Chow/Shepard mix which worked out fine. Years later, after struggling & fighting cancer, Spike passed away in my arms when we went to Dr Steves ofc for the final time, even before given the shots.

Aug 12, 2015 07:42 PM #91

@globaljaybird I've had one experience with a full chow. Went over to buy an aquarium from a lady and she had a chow. I sat down in a chair while she went to get the extra pump/filter and stuff. The chow walked over, stuck his head between my legs and growled as if to say no funny business dude. Was really happy when she walked back in the room and told him to go laydown.

Aug 12, 2015 07:43 PM #92

@brooksmd 😱

Aug 12, 2015 07:52 PM #93

@JayHawkFanToo I like to think it's how the pit is raised. Sasha, my son's pit, when she's over here she is always submissive to our big guy. If he's laying somewhere she will go over and lay face to face with him and rollover on her back, paw at him to get his attention. Even though I like to think it's how they're raised, there's that doubt that makes me keep an eye on her and would never leave her uncrated with ours if we're gone.

Aug 12, 2015 08:06 PM #94

@Crimsonorblue22 @globaljaybird Just watched Statcast video of the Dyson-Esky-Salvy play last nite. It took Esky .49 secs to catch/turn/fire the throw home. Speed of the ball when he released it was 91.7 mph. And it didn't make ESPN top 10 last nite. But 2 stupid soccer goals did. To their credit they did include a nice diving catch by a LL center fielder.

Aug 12, 2015 09:07 PM #95

@JayHawkFanToo maybe we're both a little off, but I'd be happy to help...

Aug 12, 2015 09:40 PM #96

@Crimsonorblue22

I have always consider my pets (read dogs) a part of the family, so I have zero tolerance for people that abuse pets.
