Royals vs Indians
Sep 17, 2015 10:59 PM #1

Well if you go by the won/loss records of tonites mound gladiators, this one should go to the Royals. But lately pitching can't be counted on. Ace at 11-8 goes up against Kluber at 8-13. Not much else to say.

What happened? Was outside

Sep 17, 2015 11:55 PM #12

@Crimsonorblue22 Don't know, was reading your dog story.

Sep 17, 2015 11:58 PM #13

@Crimsonorblue22 After 2 outs, a single, then line drive off Ace to Moose for another single. Followed by another single scoring a run, Zo's throw to the plate bad and nobody backed up Salvy so another run scored.

Sep 18, 2015 12:00 AM #14

@brooksmd where would u put the guys? Tough for me to decide.

Sep 18, 2015 12:30 AM #15

@Crimsonorblue22 What guys? Been visiting with wife.

Sep 18, 2015 12:34 AM #16

@Crimsonorblue22 Infante at 2nd, Zobrist in RF... Chemistry has affected Esky to the max. I was against the Zobrist trade all along if he was an everyday player taking Omar's spot. He's best suited for DH but we already have one with 100 RBIs. I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke don't fix it" & we were fine with Dyson & Paulo in LF when Gordon was hurt. If it were my call Zobrist would be like crap in the pasture-everywhere ... giving position players days off, or in RF permanent. Yes he hits well, but his downside is that his defense is not good enough to play an everyday position. It's the very reason why he's been traded several times.

Sep 18, 2015 12:34 AM #17

@brooksmd just wondered what your lineup would b?

Sep 18, 2015 12:36 AM #18

@globaljaybird hello to u!πŸ‘‹

Sep 18, 2015 12:39 AM #19

πŸ’© in the pasture!

Sep 18, 2015 12:41 AM #20

We call them cow patties

Sep 18, 2015 12:50 AM #21

@Crimsonorblue22 Ned has basically spurned Omar (Eskys pal) for his sons college roommate & a guy who was on the A's when Lawrie's started that crap taking Esky's knee out at 2nd base. Our defense up the middle was sports center play of the year before Zobrist played 2nd & now it's mediocre at best. Most of our (Spnish) guys thought Zobrist was a wise ass then & I still think so. Far as I'm concerned Paulo & Dyson did just fine.

Sep 18, 2015 12:52 AM #22

@globaljaybird I see your pt, but infante was killing us at the plate. Tough call! @brooksmd ?

Sep 18, 2015 12:56 AM #23

What can I say!πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ’ͺβšΎοΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ infanteπŸ’™

Sep 18, 2015 01:05 AM #24

@Crimsonorblue22 Omar may no longer be a 300 hitter but he's a proven everyday player & still at the prime age of an athlete. Zobrist is almost 35 & quite likely his defense will not improve going forward. Guess Infante's not killing us offensively tonite huh? He's still my guy at 2nd even if he hits the friggin Medoza line. He has been run down with an injured arm & didn't get a day off for about 3 months. Ben Zobrist is just not an everyday defensive player, plain & simple. Didn't like the trade then & like it even less now...JMO

Sep 18, 2015 01:10 AM #25

@globaljaybird I was wanting your opinion, what's medoza line?

Sep 18, 2015 01:12 AM #26

@Crimsonorblue22 Who's the stranger you're talking too?

Sep 18, 2015 01:13 AM #27

@brooksmd beats me!

Sep 18, 2015 01:14 AM #28

@Crimsonorblue22 Seems to have a little baseball knowledge.

Sep 18, 2015 01:14 AM #29

What do we do w/rios, Orlando and dyson? Rios is hitting crazy good lately.

Sep 18, 2015 01:15 AM #30

@brooksmd only a partial amount of his crazy knowledge.

Sep 18, 2015 01:19 AM #31

@globaljaybird you should bring your wife down to the fair this weekend, u r welcome to stay w/me. If u can't handle not doing chores, bring your tools and I can give u my list.

Sep 18, 2015 01:22 AM #32

Not positive but I think it's a reference to a batting avg of 200 which was coined about a player named Carlos Mendoza. If Omar can just hit 230 - 240 it's worth it to keep his glove in the spot. The Royals have the 2nd highest team avg in the AL abt 270 & thats PDG & fine to protect such an integral component of the Royals machine IMO. Regardless of the Cueto trade we may not have he starting pitching to win the WS. Trying to make up for that with Ben Zobrist in the lineup for offense & so-so defense may be like pissing in the wind. Sorry I sound so salty but Im just a blue collar .guy

Sep 18, 2015 01:35 AM #33

@Crimsonorblue22 Thanks for the offer but mine gets longer everyday... Came home tonight & either my compressor in the truck has shot crapps or my thermostats stuck open. Every effin day something else goes to the top of the list...Plus, family s comes first. Sounds like Rios is hitting better than Zobrist toe now...play the hot hand!

Sep 18, 2015 01:36 AM #34

@globaljaybird I don't think u need to apologize to us! I seriously can't decide what to think.

Sep 18, 2015 01:38 AM #35

I want to hug infante!!πŸ’™

Sep 18, 2015 01:42 AM #36

Chiefs are winning, @brooksmd do you follow them?

Sep 18, 2015 01:44 AM #37

@Crimsonorblue22 Didn't know they were playing tonite. Right now I'm more focused on getting the Royals home field advantage.

Sep 18, 2015 01:51 AM #38

@Crimsonorblue22 Geez I hate one color uniforms. Saints have an all black uni that is ugly.

Sep 18, 2015 01:51 AM #39

@brooksmd Bonehead pass.

Sep 18, 2015 02:00 AM #40

@brooksmd me too, but also a chiefs fan.

Sep 18, 2015 02:13 AM #41

@Crimsonorblue22 7 RBIs is a friggin career night for Mr Infante. ..Chew Ned's ass out- not Me. I get enough by default-have been far too stretched out to contribute plus I've been married over 40 years. That's enough baggage to get a handicapped tag by itself.

Sep 18, 2015 02:34 AM #42

Good win using a combination of pitching and hitting for a change. Great game by Infante. R's 8-4. Win cancels out Tor win. R's still with a 2 game advantage for home field.

Sep 18, 2015 02:35 AM #43

@brooksmd magic #?

Sep 18, 2015 02:36 AM #44

@Crimsonorblue22 You asking the wrong guy for magic number. Now I can give you my Magic Jack number.

Sep 18, 2015 02:39 AM #45

6 maybe. I use to hate Denver, but Harris and talib r doing so good there.

Sep 18, 2015 02:40 AM #46

@brooksmd did they show infantes shower?

Sep 18, 2015 02:41 AM #47

@Crimsonorblue22 to calculate the Royals' magic number to clinch the division, you would take 162 + 1 - 82 (Royals wins) - 64 (Twins losses) = 17. The Royals' magic number is 17. What that means is that if the Royals win 17 more games, they clinch the division even if the Twins win ALL their games. Or if the Twins lose 17 games, the Royals win the division even if they lose ALL their games. Of if there is a combination of 17 Royals wins plus Twins losses (say, nine Royals wins and eight Twins losses), the Royals clinch the division. Every time the Royals win or the Twins lose, the magic number goes down by one.

Sep 18, 2015 02:44 AM #48

@Crimsonorblue22 Using the formula, magic number for home field is 15.

Sep 18, 2015 02:46 AM #49

@Crimsonorblue22 If Minn loses tonite for division will be 6. If they come back and win, 7.

Sep 18, 2015 03:12 AM #50

@brooksmd you're sure fulla a whole lotta info tonite, Thats rather characteristic don't ya think?

Sep 18, 2015 03:13 AM #51

@brooksmd Just win baby...

Sep 18, 2015 03:40 AM #52

@globaljaybird Well like yourself, us old timers always willing to help out and answer a lady's questions. May take awhile due to losing focus or taking a nap, but we always gitter done.

Sep 18, 2015 08:35 PM #53

@brooksmd Infante & Orlando both in the starting lineup vs Verlander tonight in the Motor City. With Rios in RF & Cain healing up again, that leaves Zobrist on the pine. I'm still trying to figure out why they picked up Gomes unless they had doubts about Rios & Gordon both. The 25 man roster for the playoffs could be a shocker. Paulo & Dyson both belong there in my opinion.

Sep 18, 2015 11:06 PM #54

@globaljaybird Yep, glad I don't have to make the decision. You forgot to mention Cueto gets the call for the Royals tonite. Has he finally figured out that when you get behind in the count the hitter has the upper hand and will be looking for a fastball, belt high in the middle of the plate?

Sep 18, 2015 11:07 PM #55

@brooksmd me too, you never told me your lineupπŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€
