Noticed that KU volleyball was on Watch ESPN vs OU tonite. Had a rare free evening and thought I would watch the 7th ranked and undefeated Jayhawks.......until I clicked "WATCH" and learned it was blacked-out .

Go ahead and take away public access from a program truly deserving of some public attention.

so I switched to ESPN U.......only to see KState volleyball playing live for a national television audience against Texas.

Can I at least blame Zenger for this one too?

Yes, you absolutely can...I have been bitching about this for a while now. BTW, women's basketball is also blacked out in the state of Kansas and KC Metro area as is most every sport worth watching that is not on national TV or part of the other school's TV feed; I was able to watch the KU Texas Tech. volleyball game on the Texas Tech feed.

@SoftballDad2011 grab @JayHawkFanToo and come down for a preseason game. Did I mention SZ sucks! My 80 year old parents actually called him, my sister and hubby too about the tv change. SZ said he thought it was better to benefit KU, bla bla bla! I say we send him back to ksu and he can take Weis!

I don't have Longhorn Network. It's not part of Sling TV's sports tier.....every other ESPN channel including SEC Network is, but not the Longhorn Network.

Was trying to watch ESPN 3 through the WatchESPN app.......but that is what was blacked out

@SoftballDad2011 I can't tell if the watch espn 3 app will work fri. I think it will if they are not on Jayhawk net. But then maybe tln can black us out too.

well guys for what it's worth the game Friday will be shown on the Longhorn network if you get that Friday Channel 285 on Cox Cable it starts at 8:00 Friday night until 10:00, should be a great match hopefully, Texas ranked 2nd in the nation, KU ranked 7th in the nation and ya but we have lost 5 sets not 4 but that is still mind boggling we are 19-0 and have lost just 5 sets, our 5th was to Baylor when we won 3-1, watched the ladies tonight and I tell you what seems to me the Payne train can score almost at will, anytime she wants. a lot of weapons, Dockery, Soucie, Payne, Hall , dam can't think of the other one and our setter is out of this world and only a soph. I've gotten spoiled get up set not when they lose a match but when they lose a set lol, that's pretty sad on my part. But again on the longhorn network Friday Night at 8:00 on cox 285. @jayballer54 I just called cox and I don't get it. You have to have the sports 2 tier. I have sports tier 1.

FWIW, KU beat Oklahoma 3-0 last evening. If it is any consolation .you can watch instead the KSU-OU volleyball game Friday at 9:30 PM...still no KU... :(

Thanks to Zenger, most Kansas residents can watch KSU and not KU sports...maybe that was his plan all along.

well really disappointing, think the ladies had jitters the 1st set lost 25-16, just looked all out of rhythm, sad 2nd set, jumped out 5-0 was ahead 16-12 and then got outscored 13-3 for the rest of set. down 2 sets to zero. but dam I mean they are playing in front of 4,000 fans 4,ooo that's crazy don't play in front of crowds nearly as much as that, but they lost match in 2nd set needed that set BALL GAME. question is do we play Texas again? is this round robbin?. well swept. sorry have to say kinda disappointing. hey for sure Texas is good, real good there has to be a reason they are 2nd in the nation, and they showed why, BUT the ladies turned in a pretty sad match, 25-14 last set, texas showed how an elite team looks, plays, we were hitting like 3.23 for the year- - - -we hit 1.59 crazy you can't do that against those caliber teams 9 service errors just doesn't get it, ya Texas played like Texas but we played poor BUT hey its 1 match just have to rebound, they coming to KU on November 11th like the announcers said going to be full, hot and loud Texas announcers maybe we could move it to Allen get some more people to come just a thought our place only holds 1500, never thought I would get this wrapped up in womens volleyball but juast got to suck it up and get ready for the next match, correct some mental errors. I read that KU played very poorly and let large leads get away....oh well, we'll get them in Lawrence; I imagine there will be a lot of interest in that game and maybe it can be moved to AFH, waive the admission fee and have a large audience.

jayHawkfan very true they played very poor through the contest. felt they were in a little bit of awe, intimidated. just shows how far we have to go to reach Texas or any others of that level yet. still a great season but we hit like 1.59 for the match, normal is like 3.59 I believe. 9 service errors 4 or 5 hitting errors just bad sets, and set ups. I think where the match REALLY got away was in the 2nd set. we jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then 16-12 and from that point was outscored 13-3 the rest of 2nd set. I agree with you and hopefully for this re-match maybe we could move it to Allen, get more fans we played before 4,000 last night that's a lot so ya behind you 100% with this idea, the announcers from Texas were saying the re-match would be loud , hot and full but its only 1,500 hopefully we get them on the re-match just have work to do.
