I Love A Parade!
Nov 03, 2015 06:39 PM #1

I'm guessing the fox 4 camera is setup at Truman and Grand. Hard to make out the street signs.

Nov 03, 2015 06:42 PM #2

Should've done sound check before parade started bozo.

Nov 03, 2015 06:51 PM #3

Gotta love the Bud Clydesdales

Nov 03, 2015 06:56 PM #4

Nov 03, 2015 07:08 PM #6

@brooksmd http://www.kctv5.com/category/274238/watch-kctv5-live-newscasts-and-replays ↗

This is a differentlink that seems to have better camera coverage & commentary-If you see the sportscaster Michael Coleman, he & I played for the same football coach, Bill Freeman at Lawrence High, about 15 years apart. Pretty cool home town guy.

Nov 03, 2015 07:15 PM #7

@globaljaybird Is that overhead shot at Union Station where the rally will be held?

Nov 03, 2015 07:16 PM #8

Eddie Volquez & his adorable twin daughters...good for him !

Nov 03, 2015 07:16 PM #9

@brooksmd Which feed are you on?

Nov 03, 2015 07:18 PM #10

@globaljaybird Salvy should have his MVP trophy on top of the truck.

Nov 03, 2015 07:20 PM #11

@globaljaybird Watching both. Liked the chant for EV

Nov 03, 2015 07:24 PM #12

@globaljaybird One year for Mardi Gras the town of Covington about 10 miles south of me had the Bud Clydesdales. Central Covington is small town USA. Saw them turn a corner at one intersection that is tough in a pickup. Amazing.

Nov 03, 2015 07:25 PM #13

@brooksmd When you see The huge arches on the front of the building, you should recognize Union Station. Was completely restored about 15 yrs ago financed with a bi-state tax, but the outside looks the same as it did when we rode the passenger trains there in the 1950's.

Nov 03, 2015 07:29 PM #14

@globaljaybird Not all that familiar with KC. Is it near the old induction center I went to in 67?

Nov 03, 2015 07:30 PM #15

@globaljaybird Great story about the Giants ordering pizza for K staff. Very cool.

Nov 03, 2015 07:30 PM #16

@brooksmd Also the large, towering, cylindrical monument just to the west of Union Station is the WW I Liberty Memorial Museum. I believe it is the only dedicated WW I Museum in the US.

Nov 03, 2015 07:32 PM #17

Wouldn't it be cool if mrs zobrist delivered w/dr right now?

Nov 03, 2015 07:33 PM #18

@Crimsonorblue22 Would definitely be an anchor baby to keep them in KC. :wink:

Nov 03, 2015 07:36 PM #19

@brooksmd They were right across the street from each other when I took my physical in 69', Yes. They fed us breakfast at 6:00am that morning at Fred Harvey's in Union Station. Don't know if the old Govt building still stands. Only get down that way once or twice a year to Sprint Center.

Nov 03, 2015 07:37 PM #20

@Crimsonorblue22 WTH ?!

Nov 03, 2015 07:42 PM #21

She seems like a trooper! Not me!😱

Nov 03, 2015 07:43 PM #22

@globaljaybird Don't remember eating and I think we must've have left late that nite as I remember getting off the bus at Lackland, not a soul anywhere except our TI's, they fed us, put us to bed and seemed like we no sooner hit the sack and the TI was in the dorm yelling at us to get up.

Nov 03, 2015 07:44 PM #23

Is Joel and HUD announcing parade?

Nov 03, 2015 07:45 PM #24

@Crimsonorblue22 They are on the foxsports one & local fox 4 coverage.

Nov 03, 2015 07:47 PM #25

@globaljaybird Game 5 highlights are showing on the huge LED screen outside Union Station now. Pumpin up the crowd for the rally abt 10-15 min away.

Nov 03, 2015 07:49 PM #26

To bad we have to listen to buck and Harold ! Worth it though

Nov 03, 2015 07:50 PM #27

@Crimsonorblue22 In the back of a pickup?! I sure as the devil hope not !

Nov 03, 2015 07:52 PM #28

I can't see game. Can u?

Nov 03, 2015 07:52 PM #29

Hey @curmudgeonjhwk howzit?

Nov 03, 2015 07:54 PM #30

Enjoying the parade on MLB.com

Nov 03, 2015 07:57 PM #31

@curmudgeonjhwk I didn't think to check MLB channel. It's on there also. Is that regular broadcast team for Royals on MLB?

Nov 03, 2015 07:58 PM #32

Weather is absolutely GEORGEOUS for this parade. Low 70's. sunny blue skies. If the series had gone to a game 6, the weather is supposed to be Krap-rain & cold...This was just meant to be.

Nov 03, 2015 07:59 PM #33

Judging by the comments made towards Mets must be Royals broadcasters. :smile:

Nov 03, 2015 08:01 PM #34

@globaljaybird wouldn't game 6 be today?

Nov 03, 2015 08:02 PM #35

@Crimsonorblue22 Yep

Nov 03, 2015 08:03 PM #36

@Crimsonorblue22 yep but the parade.....

Nov 03, 2015 08:04 PM #37

@globaljaybird confused

Nov 03, 2015 08:06 PM #38

This makes me smile!!

Nov 03, 2015 08:08 PM #39

@Crimsonorblue22 Remember saying Esky wasn't a good leadoff hitter because his hitting was so bad during the reg season. Boy did he come through in post season. Hope he keeps swinging at those first pitch fastballs. Thats his bread n butter.

Nov 03, 2015 08:10 PM #40

@globaljaybird Did you notice when Esky hit that double in the 12th how far the 3rd baseman was playing off the line? There was no way in hell he could stop one down the line.

Nov 03, 2015 08:11 PM #41

@Crimsonorblue22 Why does that not surprise me? There is NO way they could pull this thing off in less than 24 hrs and the parade has to be with 48 hrs of the end of the game as per MLB rules. So there is a100% chance of rain on Thursday.

Nov 03, 2015 08:11 PM #42

ESKY!!

Nov 03, 2015 08:12 PM #43

Get lil momma a chair!

Nov 03, 2015 08:12 PM #44

@brooksmd Poor fundamentals-you guard the line late in a close game=no brainer

Nov 03, 2015 08:23 PM #45

People started parking cars & camping out last night for parade spots at Union Station.

Nov 03, 2015 08:24 PM #46

Man whata seta lungs !

Nov 03, 2015 08:29 PM #47

Looks like Vargas with the WS Trophy? - Ya think they'd have someone who's not recently had arm surgery hangin on to that baby?!

Nov 03, 2015 08:33 PM #48

@globaljaybird You think management will let go the purse strings to keep Gordo and Zo? Maybe even redo some other contracts?

Nov 03, 2015 08:47 PM #49

Jonny Gomes.....the hell with PC!!!

Nov 03, 2015 08:52 PM #50

@brooksmd Hard to say boss. @Crimsonorblue22 pasted a link yesterday that had the upcoming dates & numbers for tendering offers to FAs by their respective teams & I think minimum for 1 yr deals are over 15 mil. After abt 6 days they can then neg on the open market. That'd be 30 mil for just 2 guys when the whole payroll is just 117 mil. Sadly I have my doubts. This is a very special blend of talent & personalities but they're gonna get a lot of money thrown at them. The big Hang up for ZO is the 2 yrs they still have to pay Infante. Gordon wants to stay so I think that's a real possibility but my gut says ZO is gone.

Nov 03, 2015 09:08 PM #51

@globaljaybird Well I guess we'll find out soon who likes to play the game, win and get paid and who plays the game to get paid.

Nov 03, 2015 09:10 PM #52

@brooksmd Guys said Gordon is such a health & conditioning phanatic he has not even had a slice of pizza in about 10 years. Not many people on the entire planet have that kinda dedication.

Nov 03, 2015 09:21 PM #53

@globaljaybird Well ya ol fart, I still have more curtain rods to put up. Come to find out last night when my wife ordered the one long rod to put above three 4 ft wide windows see didn't include the 6" space between them so the rod was short. So going with individuals above each window. She had 2 and ordered 3rd one last night. Look for you tmrw nite for some KU bb.

Nov 03, 2015 09:47 PM #54

@globaljaybird I haven't had a SINGLE slice...... :pizza:

Nov 03, 2015 09:57 PM #55

@nuleafjhawk check this out-pretty cool & totally unexpected http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/the-giants-bought-pizza-for-the-royals-staff%e2%80%99s-hectic-post-world-series-day/ar-BBmLsQy ↗

Nov 03, 2015 10:56 PM #57

@globaljaybird I'd heard about that - very cool and classy. Makes me hate them just a teeny bit less for beating us last year! Lol

Nov 04, 2015 01:09 AM #58

looks like they giants will be buying again next year!

Nov 04, 2015 01:14 AM #59

Nov 04, 2015 02:52 PM #61

@RockChalkinTexas I'll be the first to admit I haven't been a baseball fanatic for a long time - until the last two years. But I'm confused about the SI caption: "How the relentless Royals ran off with a World Series title no one saw coming".

Weren't the baseball guru's crowning the Royals as champs even as far back as the All-Star break? In fact, I thought I heard one announcer say that the Royals were the first team he could remember that went from the start of the season to the finish as being the team that should win it all. ??

Nov 04, 2015 03:02 PM #62

@nuleafjhawk I casually followed throughout the season and then the last month or so when I could catch an article/able to watch. I immediately thought that it was more or less the barrage of hits/runs that they had been putting up to get to the ALCS and the fact that they were behind in something like 7 games and coming back to win through the ALCS and the World Series.

@Crimsonorblue22 or @brooksmd should be consulted for their expertise!

Nov 04, 2015 10:58 PM #66

@JRyman if anyone can find out, @globaljaybird will know!

Nov 05, 2015 12:28 AM #67

@Crimsonorblue22

You can try this vodka... ↗

The bottle in the picture ↗ is a standard Crown Royal Extra Rare bottle with a custom embroidered bag that George Brett gave to the players...
