Just checked the box score for tonights game 76ers vs the Wiz.
JoJo put up a Double Double in 14 minutes!!! 11pts 12 boards! 1 block 1 steal 14 minutes! Wait till they give him the green for double and triple those minutes. If someone is gonna beat JoJo out for Rookie of the Year this year, I dunno who it could be. I mean, its way way early, not even regular season yet but Joel is killing it out there!

I find it pretty amazing that after his first 5 preseason games he is averaging 9.4ppg, 5.6rpg, and 1bpg in only 13mpg. If you have had the chance to watch him you would also notice how good he is on both ends of the court.
Jahlil Okafor only averaged 10.4ppg, 4.4rpg, and 1bpg over 20.8mpg
Karl-Anthony Towns 11.6ppg, 6.8rpg and 1bpg over 23.4mpg
Anthony Davis 13.4ppg, 10rpg, and 1.4bpg over 30.8mpg
Is it because he has had 2 years of learning? I used each of the above players first 5 preseason games and I looked at ALL of the best big men only to find that if JOJO stays healthy he could really be a future hall of famer/NBA MVP! If Joel averaged 30mpg his stats could look like this 21.6ppg, 12.9rpg, 2.5bpg. That's pretty cool!

I wonder how long the top brass will hold down JoJo's minutes?
I also wonder if they are planning on doing regularly scheduled xrays or CT's or MRI's of JoJos foot. Radiation is nothing to be played around with. But used in small doses, used sparingly, it could provide better info on how his foot is holding up than by just "how does it feel" during treatments and workouts and games etc.
They put so much time and money and risk into getting Joel healthy, I would have to guess they will scan his foot again before the NBA season starts.

Following Embiid in the NBA just might become my favorite past time outside of following our current Jayhawks.
