He was a diehard Cubs fan apparently and was rewarded before passing on.

@wissox He & Greg Popovich were great friends so he musta been a "good guy". His early years were spent in KC at KMBC covering the Royals w/George Brett. Many fans & athletes both have fond memories of his witty shenanigans in those days. I recall once at the Sportshow in Bartle Hall one winter he even had Harley Race laughing & that was NOT easy-If Harley was not bona-fide nuts, he had the whole damn world fooled ! Cancer is such a relentless ****ing disease ...they gotta figure that schizz out & soon.

@Crimsonorblue22 I Stand Up to Cancer-For All. Tonight the Milwaukee Bucks all wore commemorative Sager Strong shirts in pregame warm ups.

@wissox @Crimsonorblue22 ‘NBA on TNT’ shares a very touching tribute to Craig Sager
narrated by his good friend & cancer survivor Ernie Johnson. Warning: Be prepared to smile then get the Kleenex ready.

@Crimsonorblue22

Really? I thought he bought his clothes at a Goodwill store...in the 70s...

Dec 16, 2016 07:22 PM #11

@JayHawkFanToo part of his charm!

The plaid sports jacket market will never be the same. RIP, Mr Sager. You're a very good man.

@Crimsonorblue22

His interviews with Gregg Popovich are classics...

Dec 16, 2016 08:50 PM #14

@JayHawkFanToo It was his "schtick' to wear the outrageous clothes to connect to people he came in contact with cordial & affable humor. He deeply enjoyed entertaining those around 👋 him and like most of us only wanted to be accepted. He invited ridicule about his appearance & always replied with witty & gracious remarks. He was genuinely as humble for that acceptance as a soul could possibly be. He has been taken away far too soon.

@globaljaybird

I understand his clothes were his shtick...they were still pretty fugly.
