t!IMG_0775.JPG ↗ I met Jerrance at the Proviso West tournament near Chicago. Future Jayhawk Markese Jacobs was playing. I told coach I had some eligibility left

He was standing one step up, I'm not that short!

Did he offer you any snacks?

Dec 29, 2016 04:21 AM #4

@wissox Surely he didn't offer any "Virginia Blend" either Heh, heh .....

I decided not to call him by that name!

The kid Markese Jacobs threw down the filthiest windmill dunk that you'd ever see from a six footer.

@wissox

Awesome photo!

Why is Jerrance giving the camera the British F-U sign?

Howard has really done well as a recruiter.

Ha! Don't know about the British thing. I learned that sign from my students and when I use it I definitely mean that!

@wrwlumpy

I recall not too long ago when most of us were pretty critical about Jerrance and his value to the program.

It never really made sense since when did Bill go for surrounding himself with dead weight staff?

Dec 30, 2016 03:27 PM #11

@drgnslayr The only one I can think of was coach Chalmers and we all know how/why he got a job. If he's on the staff there is a reason.

@wissox

How did Markese look to you?

Dec 30, 2016 05:27 PM #13

@BeddieKU23 Well he didn't stand out. Scored about a dozen. He's 6 feet tall. Quick. His older brother is going to SIU and scored 37 points. As I mentioned, Markese did have a filthy dunk.

@wissox

Interesting, he's just a sophomore so I'm sure he'll be the guy on his team next year when his brother is gone. Really interested in this guy's development as there is talk he'll be a Mcdonald's All American 5 star type by the time his senior year comes around.

@BeddieKU23 Half of the game I wasn't even aware he was out there. I always go to this tournament when I'm home in Chicago for Christmas. I was talking to a HS coach I just happened to be sitting by and he told me about Jerrence being there when he saw my hat. Then he pointed out Markese. I had forgotten about Markese. I don't follow the recruiting like some here do. Next year when I go, I'll sure pay attention!

@wissox you better!😳👀
