Selection committee to give 'in-season look' at NCAA Tournament bracket
Jan 24, 2017 05:04 PM #1

Interesting?

The NCAA announced Tuesday that the selection committee will reveal the top 16 seeds in the country — the top four teams in each region of the NCAA Tournament — “as they stand” on Feb. 11, a full month ahead of Selection Sunday.
*
The NCAA is billing it as “an in-season look” at the NCAA Tournament bracket, much like the College Football Playoff selection committee reveals its rankings on a weekly basis over the last month or so of the football season. In this case, the 16 teams will be revealed — for the first time ever — during a Saturday afternoon (12:30 ET) broadcast on CBS.*

@BeddieKU23 Really puts a target on those 3 and 4 "seeds".

@BeddieKU23 I like it a lot. Transparency is a good thing.

Sounds like the NCAA is reaching deep in their bag of tricks to somehow give Duke a high seeding.

Now they can say (when people scream about Duke earning a 2-seed) they might have factored in more weight on the early part of the year.... some bs like that.

The cynic in me thinks the NCAA has an agenda for doing this...I have not yet thought about it enough to figure out what it is...I just know the NCAA does not do this without a selfish reason.

@JayHawkFanToo They are a walking, talking agenda. An agenda on wheels. They are going to create a way to better control outcomes they want. It's who they are....it's what they do.
