Okay. It is time we all get involved in promoting our winning streak.

I'm asking everyone in here to fill out a request to have 30-for-30 make a documentary about our winning streak.

There is plenty of great material for this show to make a very entertaining and educational piece on our streak.

Here are contact links:

In September 2015, it was announced that 30-for-30 would return for a third volume of 30 films, beginning in October 2015. To date, it appears that only about half of those films have been formalized. Room for one more! But there has been a major shake up at ESPN, after the network closed down Grantland and seemed to create friction with executive producer Bill Simmons.

And then there is uber-Jayhawk Josh Swade, best known for directing the 2012 ESPN 30 for 30 documentary "There's No Place Like Home" and the force behind bringing the rules to Kansas. He is a good place to start for getting something like this accomplished.

Personally, I'm not on Twitter, but I'm sure many of you are!

I met Josh Swade at LSU last year. He made the Ben Simmons documentary for Showtime

A little early isn't it? Wait until we have the streak to ourselves. And really it should be a 30 for 30 about Bill. And it should wait until Bill is done coaching. Because he will deserve his own documentary after he wins a few more championships.

Actually, now is the time to organize programming. What we want to do is hold down one slot from the few remaining programs to be made in this series. It is believed by many that after this last series is complete, ESPN will not continue making more.

Getting our ducks in a row now will set us up perfectly for next season. So IF we break UCLA's record, the film might even be ready for March of next year. Most of the film can be completed now with only a small portion showing what happens next year.

If anything.... we may be late!

@wissox call him up!

@Crimsonorblue22 Didn't get his number!

I'd personally rather wait until the streak is ended to make the documentary on the subject.

@drgnslayr I'd rather miss out on the 30 for 30 series than see a rush job on it. The story isn't over. And, if it is really worth telling it will get told one way or another.

Maybe wouldn't hurt to make a connection.

Micah brown did a documentary, check kusports.

@drgnslayr Awesome idea dude!!

@Kcmatt7

Right... the story isn't over until the streak ends. What if it goes on for another 10 years? We don't push to promote the accomplishment until then?

From a fan-following perspective, it is best to let fans out there know while the streak is intact... so they can follow along and cheer for or against it.

I'm trying to think of a bigger story in college basketball that happened the last 10 years.... can you think of a bigger story?

@Crimsonorblue22

I did... and the only thing I found was this -

Tom Keegan: Former KU football player directs compelling documentary on Thailand prison fighters ↗

We are one year away from potentially owning this record. I think that is the right time to have the story told.

Feb 24, 2017 04:03 AM #14

@drgnslayr that's the guy I was talking about.

Feb 24, 2017 04:04 AM #15

@Crimsonorblue22

Did a search and that link was all I found. I don't think the streak is really news news until next year, when we own it (hopefully). It would be awesome to see interviews with Self and coaches and many of the players that supported the streak in their playing days.

@drgnslayr I'll just agree to disagree. You and I have two very different versions of what we would like to see.

@Kcmatt7

That happens.... doesn't mean I don't totally respect you as a person and your valuable input to this site! Thanks for keeping it respectable.

@Crimsonorblue22

Lots of KU footage there. Maybe this is something in his wheelhouse?
