Mar 15, 2017 10:16 PM #1

The game is about to start and there may be a thread on this so please ignore me, who are we rooting for tonight? I have not done research and would like to root for the easier opponent of course

Davis. NCCU was called the toughest play in tea by CBS.

They're 16 seeds, I don't care who we face on Friday.

@wrwlumpy

If NCCU is the toughest then I want to play them.

We need to be challenged from here on out. Good for the troops.

Lots of air balls, LOL

Mar 16, 2017 12:41 AM #13

Davis air balled a 3 with the lead and 40 second left in the game...it could be costly...

I'm rooting for Central so I don't have to see the headbanded Aussie again

Mar 16, 2017 12:42 AM #15

Plus the killer Bear Bryant jacket worn by Central's coach

Mar 16, 2017 12:43 AM #16

NC Central was 3 point favorite.

Central coach - can't take that suit coat.

Mar 16, 2017 12:44 AM #17

So UC Davis it is...

Mar 16, 2017 12:45 AM #18

Davis, it is. And the headbanded player is from Nigeria and seems like a good kid.

@DanR

The roster says he is from Canberra, Australia but in the interview he talked about his home in Nigeria...

We should destroy them, but we'll probably keep it close so Graham enjoys playing.

His parents are diplomats. Interesting story. From the Sydney, Australia paper yesterday:

"The 21-year-old's full name is Nwachukwu Ikeukwumere Chima Moneke, but he goes by 'Chima' because it's easier to pronounce.

"The youngest of six boys has lived on five continents moving between Nigeria, Turkey, Switzerland, Australia and America.

"He's also spent time in France and England, but Moneke says Canberra will always be home.

"Moneke moved to Australia when he was two and grew up kicking soccer balls until he was encouraged by friends to try basketball at 13.

"He was skinny, small and raw, but would eventually star for Lake Ginninderra College alongside Utah Jazz guard Dante Exum.

"But Exum scored an NBA contract as the fifth pick in the 2014 draft, signing a deal with the Jazz to kickstart his career.

"In contrast, Moneke emailed "at least 300" US schools and almost gave up hope before a recruiter from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, came knocking with a scholarship opportunity.

"After two seasons he moved to UC Davis, where in the last week he has hit an overtime game-winner against CSU Fullerton and stunned UC Irvine in the conference final."
