Open Payments API - See if drug companies pay your doctor

Though not political, I found this interesting:

Last year, drug and device companies paid out $8.18 billion to doctors for things like travel, research, gifts, speaking fees, and meals.

You can check your doctor specifically here ( all you really need is a last name and state): https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov/ ↗

I'd say Shoe Co.s are squeaky clean compared to Big Pharma and the Medical Industrial Complex.

Add $6.5 billion to the doctor bribes on what drugmakers spend on advertising and it's still pennies compared to the amount of money they pull in.

I checked my doc, and he received $27.79 in the past 4 years. Lunch? I was pretty sure he was a straight shooter, although he sure pushes every possible test that insurance will pay for in his clinic.
