@mayjay Smart. Mario remains my favorite Jayhawk after Danny Manning.

Mario is a very underrated player. He was the starting PG for the Miami team that went to 4 NBA finals and won two rings. In addition to his obvious skills, he brings experience and a winning mentality. Looking forward to see Memphis and its 3 Jayhawks play.

Sorry, he was the starting PG for awhile, but not on the Finals teams. He may have started a few games then, but he was not "the starting PG".

An interesting tidbit is that he was the entire Miami team for a few hours. Just before the LeBron "decision" all Miami contracts had expired except Chalmers and Beasley, and Beasley was traded a few hours before LeBron, Wade and Bosh became the Big Three. So Chalmers was the only player on the roster that day.

@ParisHawk

Miami went to the finals in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 and won titles in 2012 and 2013. Mario’s starting record β†— in those 4 year was:

Season Started-Played
- 2010-2011 28-70
- 2011-2012 64-64
- 2012-2013 77-77
- 2013-2014 73-73

In the two championship seasons Mario started every game he played and was the starting PG on 3 of the 4 years the Heat went to the finals.

@JayHawkFanToo My bad, thanks for correcting.

No problem. This forum has a number of posters with great knowledge of the game and some of us older posters have been around for a while and we are able to occasionally bring some old/historical perspective as well. I believe we all learn something new about the game every day by participating in this forum.

Yah, Memphis has become Allen Field House East...from a certain point of view. ;)

Rock Chalk!

Neither McLemore nor Selden were active for the game. Teams can have only 13 player active for a game.

Talking about former KU players...look at Nick Collison and Russell Westbrook (not a formerKU player :smile: ) and wives winning the Halloween contest...
