Guys listening between ball games and they have these 3 talking about different things, and they bring up the OAD'S - and they all agree they think players should be allowed to go to the NBA at anytime - getting away from the OAD'S saying if these kids don't want to play in college forcing them to come isn't the answer. - They want to go - let them go

My question is - how do you feel? - Me, myself - I guess I really don't have a strong opinion one way or another just curious. I guess my question would be - If they done away with the one and done Would the game be watered down, with your top tier talent like they said top 15-20 players not playing College ball? - - Would there be the top quality games to watch or would it be like a dud on the 4th of July?

The NBA started the one year wait for purely selfish and business reasons, they wanted to see prospect play for one year so they could better evaluate their pro potential.

College should be able to get some return on their investment by having players stay longer than one year.

The baseball rule fits the bill. If a player wants to go pro after HS he can do it but forfeits playing college. If a player decides to go to college, he has to wait 3 year before joining the League. The NBA ready players get to go immediately after HS and the ones that are not have at least 3 years to prepare. Win-win.

Yeah, I like the baseball rule too. But the NBA is free to make their own rules. They have a wonderful minor league system called college basketball that they need not spend 1 penny on so why wouldn't they try to continue kids going to college?

I think in general college basketball has suffered since so many good players have gone pro early. The quality of play isn't what it used to be. Think of what I call the glory days of college hoops. The late 70's through the late 80's. Legendary teams and players. OAD rules would have robbed us of Magic/Larry, Phi Slamm Jamma (even though they won nothing), the great Georgetown dynasty that should have won more. Does Danny stay in college for four years today? Hard to tell, but probably not. A Dean Smith led UNC with Jordan, Perkins and Worthy all playing at the same time? Never in 2017!

I wouldn't mind seeing something similar come back.

I'd be thrilled with the baseball rule... but not many people follow college baseball.
