Classic line tonight. The play by play tonight is a great announcer named Jason Benetti. I'm a little biased since he's the White Sox play by play guy with the great Steve Stone at his side. Tonight he had to work with Dakich, not my favorite announcer. Dakich got into a twitter fight with Frank Kaminsky. Not a good idea. Dakich blocks fans who say anything negative about him on his posts.

Anyways, Dakich tonight says "if Graham gets going Kansas is going to be ok" So Benetti says, "so for the next two hours you're going to say what's obvious?" LOL!

By the way, Benetti the only major sports announcer who has cerebral palsy.

I laughed at that. Benetti was actually pretty good. Only reason I kept the volume turned on.

(still miss Steve Stone as a cub guy though)

Benetti shone tonight. I can't wait til baseball season starts again!

@wissox Those garbage lines of that fella Dakich absolutely personify the word BANALITY. He ought to work a mic out on the West Coast, beside Walton.

@REHawk could imagine a game with him an Walton? There would not be one cogent point all day, nor a comment about the actual game. That would be my personal hell, having to listen to those two for eternity, oh wait, I forgot about Vitale!

Dakich was Knight’s player, assistant and an HC for awhile. This is conclusive evidence KU BASKETBALL culture is superior to most of Indiana basketball culture. Their average is far lower than our average. 😇

Sports media outlets need to update their mentalities. They are still living back in the 70's with Howard Cosell. They think they can force "color" into "color commentary" by just making it absurd.

At least Cosell was a walking sports encyclopedia.

I don't know WHY sports media companies feel like fans want to watch a game but hear all other kinds of complete bull snit. Dakich likes to "go Walton" on his audience by taking them away from the game to focus on other trivial nonsense.

If a color commentator can't keep his/her "color" directly related to the game, then they are doing a disservice to the game. I'm not watching KU basketball so I can learn that B12 refs make more money than some other conferences and maybe (or maybe not) they show some kind of allegiance to Big 12 coaches. What a load of cr@p!

@drgnslayr To me there's a big difference between Walton and Dakich. Walton earned the right to blatter on and on about anything because he's a legend of the game. If DD wasn't announcing games on ESPN no one would even know who he was.

I don't mind Walton too much. Although I hope we don't have him Thursday night because we'll hear him call the PAC12 the conference of champions oh, probably 12 times throughout the evening.

I yank on Walton's chain sometimes, but I have a soft spot for the big redhead. Back in the early 70s, Walton and Wooden helped me focus on something besides being potentially drafted for Vietnam.

Oh mercy, you know what? - As much as you hope, you probably stumbles onto it right though. - -I would almost bet we get Walton - -AGAIN tonight, cause as you say - he does ALOT of pac 12 games - -OH LORD here we go again listen to him ramble about bike riding, and asking his partner what his name is, all the while the game going on, no mention of the game what so ever all we get to see is Walton and the other guys chirpy little faces. - Your probably right - - dam ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Oh, I'd read he was doing our game.

Maybe he was suppose to be things might of just got changed - personally that is a huge relief to me . - -For me personally I wish actually Jay Williams would do some courtside games -I and it's just me but I like Jay pretty much. I've noticed that Jay Bilas hasn't really done any or if any not very many games - he has gotten a little wrapped recently too - used to like him more - but for me - Jay is probably at right at the top. - Oh Bill just mentioned the infamous league of Champions. whew, -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
