Guys a couple of things here - I hate to hear this:

Chase Herrell seen his brother shot and killed over the weekend. Chase older brother Cole was shot as Chase and him were at some house party and Cole along with a couple of others tried to dis arm this guy with the gun.

My heart and prayers go out to chase and his family, what a devasting thing to go through the loss of any family member and being there seeing your brother shot and killed. -We can only hope Chase and the family can lean on our father, and he can give them the strength they need to make it through this time of sorrow. RIP Cole.

On another KU front - here we are the eve of the new early signing of football recruits - wish I could say I was excited , or had something to be excited about - -but I can't

I've stood behind Coach Beaty trying - trying as hard as I could, but even I have to say I'm teetering pretty hard at this point. - A boat load of JUCO's - exactly what he said he wasn't going to do. But he hasn't produced anything on the field and not getting any kind of interest from High School kids. - When will this night mare end? - -Or will it end?

3 Juco players orally committed today/tonight. - -All this turned out to be is a Charlie Weiss part 2 - man I didn't think it was possible to sink any further but it's now looking like it -we are turning into JUCO- U? - I don't think I can endure a 3rd year in a row of brutal butt kickings. -When he gets fired and he will whether it be in the middle of the year or at the end it is just once again a giant cluster -F - - - - -I've never seen any football program that has fallen so low. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

It is just really sad. Embarrassing too. Kind of makes me a touch angry .... I'll stop there. Holidays and all.

I read that Texas offered to a recruit from Texas (whose name escapes me) that had committed to KU. I guess he will not be signing with KU...

Ya I read that. I think it shows some real character in the kid. He made his verbal and he stuck with his commitment, he knows what he is walking into. - -Shows his commitment to coach Stull.

The article also talk about even though it's just one of the Louisiana kids that verbally committed it DOES put schools on notice that KU is goin to recruit that area. - -I sincerely hope they can make a go of things - -so much negativity

Also read that one of the High School kids that we had recruited and he was out of Texas his name was Jacobe Lott a 6'4 309 pound offensive lineman that Texaas had made a late push for him, and the article said that the plan was that Lott was suppose to sign with Ku today but with Teas in the picture they didn't know what he would do - - - Well he signed with KU today so that's also good.

Pookie Williams the speedy running back out of Louisiana is suppose to announce tomorrow, I'm not counting on him but you never know would be another big catch. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

KU should have offered Simone Award winner Ronnie Bell. He's a WR from Park Hill HS in the Kansas City area. Prior to a couple of days ago, he was committed to Missouri State to play basketball. He committed to Michigan this week. KU likely could have easily landed him had they offered him earlier in the fall, as he had zero D1 offers prior to winning the Simone (goes to the top HS football player in the KC metro area). Opportunity missed.

Well my friends I guess it really is the Christmas season - -holidays. I will be the 1st to admit, I've tried and tried really hard to stay pretty loyal to Coach Beaty. I also have to admit that it has been pretty hard and myself like thousands of others have been very disappointed very disappointed. I want Coach to succeed - I really do, yet I've found myself cussing him multiple times through out the season Yet having said that, with all the Coach Beaty bashing and such which I'm not saying at least some was warranted I have to say this:

Ya I know I'm just babbling at this point trying express my thoughts what I'm trying to get at. so with all our problems let me say this

It's pretty refreshing to see that even with these problems that there are a couple of High School kids that still honored their verbals from like 10 months ago and they are a couple of studs - Big boy targets:

The latest today was Pooka Williams the running back from Louisiana man he his crazy good. True he is a 3 star from there but with all the talent that State produces he can still be really good and put in that category . - His Senior stats: for the season rushed for 3, 118 yards and 37 touchdowns - - -in the playoffs alone in the 5 games he played he rushed for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns - -MERCY.

Then Coriene Harris - the 4 star corner back the highest rated recruit we have landed I think they said since like 1999 stuck with his commitment also out of Louisiana.

These kids know what they are walking into, yet still honored their verbal. - -Williams ended up choosing KU out of his final 3 schools the other two being Nebraska & LSU - -& Harris picking KU over LSU.

Yes I know that Coach Hull was the main recruiter with these kid and deserves much of the credit - yet it was Coach Beaty that hired Coach Hull realizing his talents as a possible recruiter - -yes - yes - yes indeed IT IS CHRISTMAS. - I know these guys very well aren't going to get things done by themselves, but with Mike Lee now these two and Coach Hull going to put this area on alert that we WIIL and are there to stay recruiting and pulling recruits , not all is ruined it is the season - stay the faith my friends. - -Finally a little good news on a sad situation. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Pooka Williams is rated the 11th best all purpose back in the country - - not bad - - not bad at all. -- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@whipperboy73 Aha, our now former hometown team beat Pooka in the state semis this year on the way to the state championship!
