If we are going to move things away from KUsports, we are going to have to start generating content ourselves, rather than purely linking and commenting.

While linking to some stories is good, as those stories are interesting and add quite a bit to the discussion and quality, we also need independent content.

To that end, I am going to try to add at least one new topic each week to give this site some independently developed content. Sometimes football, sometimes basketball, sometimes just general stuff.

I'd encourage others on the site, particularly those with writing chops (you know who you are, I've seen your comments), to do the same to help develop what could be a very good thing here.

I agree. Some of you Posters out there can really write some good stuff. I did well in English class from high school through college but its been a while and really Im just a novice at writing and sports knowledge in general. I try to learn as much as I can about my favorite sport in the whole world (College Hoops) so I can contribute a little. But yah, everyone with writing chops and the time to do so should absolutely generate some independent content. Id love it!

I was on the track team with some greats including the best multi-sport KANSAS ALL AMERICAN NOLAN CROMWELL. What a stud. Read his stats and you'll be impressed.

@JayhawkRock78 Otto Schnellbacher would have a good case for title of best multi sport instate athlete also.

@ Dylans.
Otto was quite a stud. I would encourage others to google him. I knew about Ray Evans but somehow missed Otto. I find it interesting that Otto and Cromwell were both from small towns in western kansas.

@JayhawkRock78

Lots of hard workers in western Kansas, just not a lot of people.

Hard to believe that a Jayhawk who played both pro basketball and was an all-pro football player can be overlooked, but with a history like KU's it happens. Many other schools would have a statue of him somewhere.

@ Dylans,
I'm going to pester a few folks @ KU about getting this guy some visibility. Thanks so much for schooling me.
