6 under after round 1. Missed tying the PGA record by 1. Go Gary!
Hope he can hold it together. This course sets up perfect for big hitters like him.
10 under after round 2, still in first but the afternoon groups are still starting.
He's a very good golfer with a chance to win a major or two. The guys who have to finish 9 holes in the morning are going to have somewhat of an advantage. But then they'll have to turn around and play 18 more pretty quickly so it evens out.
It sucks I wasted my pick on Woodland with Louis ( announce 20 minutes b4 the tourney you're withdrawing ) Oosthuzien, and the lovely and talented Charley hoffman, who didn't make the cut. alas, If I had put Woodland in my other lineups, I would be alot further up the standings.

After that mediocre round Saturday, things could really get brutal for Gary on Sunday. He's paired with Tiger. (1:35 tee time.)
Even if his game doesn't fail him, it's gotta be tough when most of the gallery is rooting for the other guy.
@nwhawkfan he's use to that in Mizzou! Hopefully it will raise his game! Go Gary!💙❤️ Lower his score
@nwhawkfan The fans following Tiger get raucous for anyone he is playing with, too. The crowds yesterday were cheering for everyone doing well. Most PGA fans want to see success and great competition, and cheer everyone. (Ryder Cup crowds are more like Fenway crowds, though.)
Now, if they could just immediately eject any effing jerk yelling "IN THE HOLE!" it would be great. Or, if all the other spectators would beat him to death--okay, maybe just yell "Shut up!"--it would be a fantasy fulfilled.
I like what they did at the Masters. They threatened to eject anyone who yelled "you da man," "mashed potato," or something stupid like that during the swing.
Wish I could be there to cheer Gary on. I saw him when they had the US Open out here at Chambers Bay a couple of years back.
The last major I watched before that was when the PGA was at Sahalee CC east of Seattle 20 years ago. The guy who won, Vijay Singh, is coming back here in a couple of weeks to play the Champions Tour stop.
Was a hell of a tournament.
