Who are Royals potential trade candidates for this year's deadline. I see below players:
Hamilton
Bailey
Diekman
Boxberger
Owings (Will any team take him)
Gordon (This is an emotional one and Gordon may block the trade)
Merrifield (I would not mind moving Whit if we get good prospects)
Duda (Again will any team take him)
Kennedy
You might be able to trade Kennedy if you eat most of his salary for the next two seasons. Bailey looks possible, but it would be for peanuts probably.
Gordo isn't going anywhere. They think they're close to competing so Whit stays here on his team friendly deal even though he could probably fetch 2 very good prospects.
Don't think there will be a market for anyone else.
I do think they need to trade Cuthbert. I don't know what more he can do to play at the big league level. If we like Gutierrez and Arteaga better, than ship him off now. He'd at least fetch a raw talent with a high upside somewhere in single-A.
Either trade Bubba or call him up.
Can we see what Nick Dini can do at the MLB level? He's got the 2nd best OPS in Omaha this season and Maldonado has been awful.
I'm sad bc my Nats are sucking. I hope we don't start the rebuild. It's been a good run. Still just a bullpen and a competent manager away.

You guys missed your window. Luckily for you a rebuild shouldn’t take long
Royals should start looking to move the veterans that won't be around beyond 2020. They will need those reinforcements when 2024 rolls around, so they should stockpile talent now. That was the mistake they made in 2011and 2012. They didn't trade away guys that weren't going to be around past 2013, so they didn't have depth to extend the run.
Duffy is a good candidate to move and get couple of solid prospects.

Love the guys but you’re probably right. He’s one of their most valuable pieces at the moment

@Crimsonorblue22 It is emotional to trade players especially those who have been around the team for some time. The team has to look at the roster situation while evaluating risk and reward. Royals still need a lot of prospects to get back in contention hopefully in 2-3 years.
