I do NOT respect his decision. I have no respect for people who don't keep their word. Just sayin.

Things change all the time. When you have a roster and staff of 200+, things are going to happen. Players want PT. They want to play for certain coaches. They don't want to play with certain other players. Etc. Etc. Etc.

The average turnover rate in the business world is 18% across all industries. But somehow we expect 17 and 18 year olds to be 100% committed for the next 4 or 5 years of their lives and they aren't even allowed to have second thoughts.

Just funny to me.

At first I was thinking it’s not that bad. Investigation, fight - we’ll get thru this together guy. Then I realized it was a quote. Lol

@Kcmatt7 Nobody said he had to stay here four years.

Call me naive. I don't care if you're 5 or 95, if you give your word - you should keep your word.

Nothing says they have to commit in the first place - if they're unsure just say "Ummmm - I'm considering (fill in the University of choice) - there's a lot of things I like here, but I need to check out some more options before I COMMIT"

I think if you give your word, and then the circumstances behind your commitment change, than you are more than justified to change your mind.

We also dropped almost everyone that decommitted. Scott (bad Sr year), Bryant (grades), Harden (grades), Fisher (numbers crunch), Stoefen (injury), Richardson (didn't want to grey), and Jarrett (we signed better guys). These are two way relationships.

I have been checking daily , and even though several de-commits, I think we are still even as late as it is, I think we have really good shots at some that sound like they could be really solid players. True they not any 4 * mega studs - but I think they could develop into some really nice players in their 4 years here.

I still think there is going to be a surprise - - maybe two even for this year yet come signing day,

I also feel like the 2021 class could be very solid looking very promising but same story. Actual signing day is a long ways away even if the 2021 kids do verbal. Can be very frustrating. In a way almost wish we didn't have an early signing , that way when they committed it would be final - -OH well it's going to be ok. - - ROCK CHALK ALLDAY LONG BABY

@Kcmatt7 I guess it's good that we all don't think the same. How boring would that be? Lol - I respect your opinion.

@nuleafjhawk I totally get screwed every other year by college age kids backing out of a work commitment. Most just don’t want to put in the work/time and find something cushier. I just deal with 2-4 per year so if I had 25 sheesh, I’d pull my hair out. Poor Les.

@dylans I agree. I just don't see why they commit if they're not really sure. I guess it's insurance - "Well, if a GOOD school won't have anything to do with me, I can always fall back on KU".

Another infraction last year but it’s “only” a level 3 which is the least severe.

@Woodrow do newspaper guys normally shoot video and send them to big 12? am I reading this right?

Jan 30, 2020 02:48 AM #15

I don’t often think this, but I’d consider revoking the Star’s media privileges.

Jan 30, 2020 03:06 AM #16

@Crimsonorblue22 I do not think that is normal at all.

Jan 30, 2020 03:35 AM #17

@Kcmatt7 can we do that? Wasn’t sure I was reading that right

I don’t see why we couldn’t.

Make them pay our fine if they want them back.

Jan 30, 2020 04:24 AM #20

They won't have much of a sports Dept without KU sports, no Jesse or Gary.
