Bernie vs. Biden

I'm getting irritated with Warren not endorsing Bernie before Michigan. Choose a side. Don't disparage both and play the victim.

@FarmerJayhawk there is still the possibility that Bernie murders Biden in the debate March 15th.

@approxinfinity said in Bernie vs. Biden:

True. The math makes it VERY hard. There are about 2500 delegates left and Bernie has to win almost 60% of them to get to 1991, and that’ll only go up significantly when Biden wins almost everything. Biden needs about 53% of those left, and it’ll be well under 50 tomorrow. I’m not finding states left on the board with big hauls that would go for Bernie. Florida? Not a chance. Can’t say nice things about Castro and do well. New York? Heavily black and Jewish. Not Bernie voters. Illinois, again, heavily black and Obama’s home state.

Mar 09, 2020 06:53 PM #6

@FarmerJayhawk if Biden has a very bad senior moment then things can change. Other than that I agree with you, it's over.

@Crimsonorblue22 You have to be old (and senile) to want to be President.

Shows you how bad the Dem party really is. I mean you have all the media giants in your corner except Fox News yet you still can’t fool the American public. Sad days. It appears the only thing the Dems have left is to play the race card.

Sad part is I've NEVER seen a President attacked by the Social Media as President Trump from Day one - - - EVER they have ha a vendetta against this guy from Day 1 , yet his popularity is at an all time high Un-Employment is as low as it has been in some time , a President that doesn't take any Crap from some of these terrorists Countries - -!st President Ever to Meet with North Korea on their home ground -- Kim got pretty quiet in the end I'll catch hell don't really care. I DO know I sure the hell would NOT eve vote for what the Dems are offering now. - -you might as well hand the election to President Trump if this is the best they have to offer. Sanders is a dam radical and Biden ? - - - Biden ? - -well pretty much says it all. Hell so desperate at this point they trying anything still talking about the possibilities of getting good old Hilleary to try - -AGAIN mercy Good luck. Ok have at it

I will say within my liberal bubble of media consumption I hear a lot about Biden's fitness in regards to his age and possible cognitive decline. I heard the same about Trump a couple of years ago but have heard less recently. In general, my opinion is you don't hear too much about any one Trump incident/scandal/mishap/lie because there are simply so many. It almost seems like the strategy these last several years is just to bombard the media with so many things that have never happened before/been done before that traditional media and the human brain simply can't keep up. Again, this is all from an admittedly liberal bubble consisting of my twitter feed (where I choose who to follow based on the voices I want to hear), NPR, an occasional visit to cnn.com, this site, Last Week Tonight (though less so recently) and news and articles recommended to me by friends and colleagues (mostly in Austin, TX or Wichita, KS). The last one and twitter are where I am most likely to encounter views that challenge my own as I make a point to associate with people (in person and online) who don't look and think just like me.

Seems to me the President isn't exactly the paragon of mental acuity. He always has a hard time staying on topic and formulating coherent thoughts.

I'm an unaffiliated libertarian with mostly liberal friends (or at least not Trump supporting friends, regardless of ideology) and a family that are MAGA die hards. So I get where most folks are coming from, but the Trump thing just mystifies me.

I’m from literally the middle of America (s/o to Lebanon, KS!) and have been working to stop Trump for years. I’m not a Democrat, voted for Romney in 12, Jeb! in 16. The Trump trade war has nearly cratered my family’s livelihood. I don’t like the personal attacks, but Trump has been a disaster for a lot of middle America, which is why we spent about as much on farm bailouts as auto bailouts. I took my check not because I wanted to, but because it was that or live off savings and my modest salary. We all knew this, warned our people on the right, and they still nominated him. So forgive me if I’m peeved at the ā€œBUT HE SAYS WHAT I THINK ABOUT STUFF I SAW ON FACEBOOKā€ voters.

Yeah... no he didn’t. I was doing pretty ok (not awesome, getting by) until Trump started the trade war and my costs went WAY up and my revenues went WAY down. If that’s help I’d hate to see how he’d hurt us. USMCA is garbage. It’s NAFTA but harder for US producers to import things from abroad. Again, my costs are going up. Not great. John Deere, et al. are having a harder time sourcing steel because the trade war put US manufacturing in recession, so also not great.

I don’t want corporate welfare. Let me compete in the market and we’ll win. We’ve done it forever. Just get out of my way. We were doing really well! Sure there were big fluctuations because of forces beyond our control but governments just can’t fix that.

The D race is over. Biden will easily get to 1991 and the convention will be pretty uneventful if they even have it. I think they should make all the voting virtual so we don’t have a bunch of old folks in Milwaukee and Charlotte where the virus is already a big issue. Televise the speeches, fine. But don’t bring the delegates to the conventions.

And just for the record? If Dem voters would’ve voted Amy or even Booker? You might of captured my vote. Not so much booker, but Amy yes. But no the dem voter was like screw the country we have to beat Trump. Now we are stuck with Biden and Sanders. A brokered convention.

I don’t want corporate welfare. Let me compete in the market and we’ll win. We’ve done it forever. Just get out of my way. We were doing really well! Sure there were big fluctuations because of forces beyond our control but governments just can’t fix that.

I love your spirit but it’s not a fair fight. But respect what your saying. I’ll leave it at that.
