May 23, 2014 04:15 PM #1

Ben did not make the NBA Rookie 1st or 2nd team.

I'm not surprised. His shooting was sub-par, but he did come on strong towards the end of the season as I recall.

McLemore was wildly inconsistent; he had great games and some very poor ones as well. Once he steadies his game he will do a lot better.

@JayHawkFanToo - It's almost like another year or two of college would have made him a better pro......

@nuleafjhawk

As I recall his family really needed the money, so and extra year was not an option.

@REHawk- Yeah, but if he'd have stayed in Lawrence one more year I'll bet even money we have made it to at least the elite eight. He got a lot more than even money- you or I get chump change an hour for a guy that's retired & still wants to pad the 401K. At least the won't fire him for failure to execute his job description LOL !!

Ben did what he had to do, pretty sure he wanted to stay!!! He is representing KU well, always doing benefits for kids. Just coming back to school this summer speaks volumes! Great kid!

The worst part is that he is in Sacramento. That franchise is garbage. I was so happy when TRob got out of there.

The city is not bad and the new ownership seems a lot better and appears to like McLemore.

@JayHawkFanToo Admittedly I don't keep up on the NBA, so I didn't even know the Maloofs weren't the owners anymore. Did the transition happen within the past year? Because I'm near 100% positive it was the old regime when they drafted and misused TRob.

The Maloofs no longer own the Kings. The team was sold in May, 2013 to Silicon Valley entrepreneur Vivek Ranadivé, who promptly installed a new management team; McLemore was the first player select by the new management team and as such, they have a vested interest in his success..
