New S&C Coach For Texas

Hudy out.

Honestly Hudy was largely overrated. KU upgraded that position and Texas probably is as well.

@BShark I think more than anything the importance of that role comes from consistency/cohesion.

You don't want a new trainer in who doesn't know your guys all the time.

@Kcmatt7 Very much agree. KU social media really did a great job promoting Hudy, but she wasn't what some made her out to be.

Felt like a lot of players got injured during her time here. May not be fair to pin that on her, just saying. She also had a lot of successful guys build up.

Doke and the Morris twins made her a lot of money. Will be interesting to see where she ends up.

@approxinfinity Other teams have injuries all the time. We just had bad luck under Hudy with timing.

She is a D1 P5 quality strength coach. But there are a lot of those.... KU fans do give her a bit too much credit. I think she was good at her job. But I guess I expect the person running our weight program to be elite no matter what.

Andrea Hudy is headed back to UConn as the Director of Sports Performance for the women's basketball team. She's a UConn alum and got her start there as an S&C coach.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Good for Andrea. Wish her well

She is quality... no doubt. But I have to wonder if her move to Texas was a good one. Sure didn't last... and I don't think her move back to UCONN is an upgrade. Maybe it is more of a lifestyle move for her. Regardless... I wish her well!

She didn't leave Texas voluntarily, she left because of the coaching change. Her new position entails more than just S&C and it's UConn women's basketball which is probably the top basketball program men's or women's right now. It's also home for her which I'm sure played a huge role in her decision.
