Reclassing, joining KU for next season

Interesting move

Not sure what to make of this move...

Bill Self decided he'd rather have all guards than all wings lol

Cuffe looks like he can fly at times... dunk machine

I'm all in for this move. - - - BShark ?

Well for starters I would assume Bill was told TyTy isn't coming. We still have likely two open scholarships.

I'd take Collins for the wing and call it close to good as long as Jalen is back.

I'm going to have to get re-accquainted with the ENTIRE OSTER lol - -with Cuffe re-classifying that is now SEVEN new guys. - Let's see - - -we'll have Braun , probably one of the other Wilson/Oachi - just can't see both going. Mitch , & Harris right ?

Getting us through the biggest lull of the offseason, keeping minds fresh and away from how last season ended. I mean its interesting, still don't think Bill has the roster he needs but that's another discussion

@BeddieKU23 I think they are one guy away. If we can't succeed with the guard rotation we have in place now then Bill has lost his touch.

But they do need another player if Och isn't coming back.

I'm excited about having several young guards who will develop together and hopefully be around for multiple years.

that leaves 1 scholarship and TyTy is pretty much the only dude out there being heavily recruited. so we potentially have 3 left over scholarships for next year?

Gone for good...Bryce, gethro, Juco boy, and latrell. and they aren't coming back...forever. right? except to play in AFH in Bryce's case when he goes to OSU.

Does that pretty much sum things up. I think I'm missing someone. like a creighton kid or something.

whatever happened to that guy from UMKC....wasn't he a KU lock?

Right now 247 has us rated as the # 6th best recruiting class coming in. - Yet that is without the addition of Cuffe- - -wonder if we move up any with his addition ?

Chris Teahan is not on scholarship and Mitch Lightfoot's scholarship doesn't count towards the 13.

As of now the scholarship situation is:

Returning: Braun, Harris, and McCormack

Undecided: Agbaji and Wilson

Newcomers: Adams, Clemence, Cuffe, Curry, Martin, Pettiford, and Yesufu

KU currently has 1 scholarship officially open with potentially 2 more open depending on Agbaji and Wilson's decisions.

I would pump the brakes on Cuffe being a contributor next season. Blair basically didn't play this season so he's going from two years of HS ball to Kansas. I would really consider seeing if he wants to redshirt.

Agree with this. If he is up for it, redshirting makes a lot of sense.

In another KU discussion I said this recently

I do think he could be a RS candidate. Only played 2 years of HS ball. Easy to forget that Graham and Mason both had a post grad year so 5 years of HS. This is the opposite situation and guards that do this tend to not be quite ready yet.

I think down the line if they can keep these guards together they could be a salty group.

I wouldn't expect all 4 to return the season after. Its the new reality

If he takes a RS he is all-in on the program and wouldn't transfer at least after that season. Heard some good things from his dad in regards to that.

He has a lot to work on, but has a ton of potential.

I think Cuffe and Curry will reshirt and I would probably redshirt KJ Adams as well if he doesn't look like he'll factor into the rotation next season.

Just failing to see vision of this offseason so far. Yesufu and Pettiford seem like the only 2 guys of the 7 we have coming in that can actually make a difference. No idea what Ochai and Wilson are doing. If they return great, if they don't I'll laugh and move on. Maybe after the final roster is solidified I can take a hard look at the ceiling of this group and get more optimistic however
right now I wouldn't be surprised if we took a step back again. Am I crazy? Maybe I need a vacation...

Better off breaking in new guys I agree. They weren't going anywhere with the roster as it was. Not sure KU is a real threat next year regardless.

Good news is we will win games anyway because Bill is ridiculous. I think we are adding good talent long term.

Listening to an interview with Vernon and he said Self has had enough "nice guys" on the roster. He wants "tough guys" more in line with the kind of guys we had around 2010. We need DAWGS.

Agree, I actually really like every freshman recruit we signed and would rather watch them play next season and grow. But we all know what Self is going to do. Very excited about having actual guards on this squad next season.
