Here are the items I'm going to focus on:
- Fixing domain name resolution to IP
- This will fix broken avatar images
- Getting SMTP set up correctly (emails don't presently work, i.e. forgot password email, etc)
Will report back on progress here.

If you need any help trouble shooting or fixing the bugs with this site I would be happy to offer my help.
Great to have a computer nerd who is also a Jayhawk fanatic! I couldn't begin to do what you're doing. I noticed avatars are coming up. How do we add them to our profile? Thanks
the reset email is working. it just still has localhost in the URL. it must be in your configuration file.
@kchiefs Hey thanks for looking into this. i've gotten a second server now so I can sandbox the changes and hopefully get it straight.
Def appreciate your help!
Other than the domain name stuff, we'll still need to figure out if IE9 reply modal is actually broken in the nodebb code or a config problem with our instance (I had posted a bug on their board but nobody replied, which makes me wonder if its not just our config -- link ↗)
Anytime you need some help let me know. I'm building an amanda server right now for the county so I may not respond in a timely fashion for a day or two while I test it out. I've been looking at the CSS templates for your BB and it really looks like it would be pretty easy to throw one together.
@kchiefs I'd love it if you want to try your hand at skinning the site; all of their themes, at least those that come standard, are minor derivations on the same standard layout. It'd be interesting to see what a real departure from what they've got could look like. I got latest on their repo but the header bar of the layout seemed to have problems; someone here also mentioned that the header bar was too massive on their Nexus 7, so maybe that's somethign we could look at. Also, several people have mentioned pictures and somehow tying them in, and someone sent me a couple pictures of KU campus. Would be interested to see if they and/or other pictures could be included in the layout without being overwhelming somehow. Please email me and we can hash this out further. Thanks man! -- approxinfinity@gmail.com
i haven't gotten too far into it but I'm assuming you can use media queries to target the banner size on tablets and phones.
I have been looking into themes for bootstrap and it looks like it will be pretty easy. I will get ahold of you about some pictures.
the header bar looks fine on my nexus 7. it is about 1/8th the screen
Just joined the party. Thanks Approxinfinity (and anyone else) who has put got this going. Looks mighty fine!
@approxinfinity Just logged in with my Nexus. The banner is much better behaved now. Thanks
Congratulations on hitting one thousand posts! :)
You too JuJu! (party)
Hey, I was having problems commenting on the site with my phone. iPhone 5S using Google Chrome. The text box is clear & overlay is difficult to see...despite that, I was pretty sure I clicked 'submit' a couple times to no avail.
Thanks for setting up the site - enjoying it!
