@mayjay I do feel bad for him, he's given a lot to the team.

@BShark oh geez another one!🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

Nov 15, 2021 03:52 AM #12

Raider fans about to take a cue from the Texas fans last night.

Nov 15, 2021 04:05 AM #13

"Ladies and gentlemen, your first place Kansas City Chiefs!"

Not a statement I thought I'd hear a few weeks ago...

Nov 15, 2021 04:07 AM #14

@nwhawkfan have faith! My high school team is in sub state, sat ku won, today chiefs. Forgot ku bb

Nov 15, 2021 04:13 AM #15

Mahomes 35 for 50. Threw for 406 yards, 5 TDs, with a 127 QBR.

Ho-hum.

Nov 15, 2021 12:55 PM #16

How quickly things change in NFL - Chiefs are in leading the division - Whoa.

Nov 15, 2021 05:22 PM #17

Damn,,, we had a Mahomes sighting. Nice to see.

Nov 15, 2021 05:41 PM #18

Thank you Kirk Cousins and Jalen Hurts. Who would have thought we could be in 1st place the way we've played. A dumb fumble away from a 1.5 game lead and a real shot at the #1 seed still...

I do think we basically have to finish the season 6-0 to get the #2 seed, but the schedule is favorable and we are playing our best football. I wouldn't put it past Andy or Pat.

Nov 15, 2021 06:36 PM #19

@Kcmatt7 hey, waddya mean the schedule is favorable??? Cowboys, Steelers...hmmm. That don’t look favorable!
Tennessee’s sked looks favorable.

Nov 15, 2021 07:16 PM #20

@rockchalkjayhawk If you are scared of the Steelers idk what to tell you. Bad football team.

Nov 15, 2021 07:20 PM #21

I'll just say it, and the D has been playing better of late, I need to see more... We're going to be playing a hot Dallas team and everyone in the AFC West - all of whom, like us, need to win.

Nov 15, 2021 07:32 PM #22

@Kcmatt7 Just saying, sked ain't a cake walk.
And don't forget the NFL added a game this season, so Chiefs have 7 games to play, with 3 roadies (and the last two on the road).

Good luck to your high school team, BTW. Too bad my HS isn't around anymore, but at least we won the state football title my senior year.

It was great to see the trophy again when somebody brought it to our reunion dinner last month.

It was part of a bizarre school year with lots of ups and downs...we won the state FB title, then the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. On the down side, we lost three teachers in a car crash that fall, and the school was almost shut down for good the following spring. (It eventually happened a year later). Chaotic for sure.

In KC MO. It was a Catholic boys' school. Rockhurst High was our rival. The two schools used to play for a traveling trophy every year called The Little Brown Jug, a real wooden keg with scores of each year's game. We managed to beat them all four years I was there.

Big game today

Can Chiefs D stop Cowboys potent attack

Some intriguing matchups on both sides

Nov 21, 2021 05:02 PM #31

It will be a challenge for sure, Dak is playing his ass off. But I think we'll pull it off, are playing in Arrowhead afterall.

Nov 21, 2021 10:49 PM #32

Chiefs D looking great so far. Mahomes, not so much. Only 11 of 18 in the first half. Might be good enough though.

Dak not so hot either. 13 of 21, but for only 68 yards, no TDs and a Chiefs pick.

Nov 22, 2021 12:19 AM #33

And another pick ! Sneed shuts the door to seal the win !

Zero touchdowns by the Cowboys. Wow. KC defense steps up.

Still a ways to go, but with the Raiders, Tennessee and Buffalo losing today, things look good for a playoff spot at the VERY least.

Nov 22, 2021 01:29 AM #34

@nwhawkfan couldn't stand the cowboy announcers!

Nov 22, 2021 12:37 PM #35

Troy shouldn't being doing Cowboy games.

Nov 22, 2021 12:45 PM #36

I think Ingram trade has lit a fire under Jones and Clarke, they are playing so much better now.

Also, moving Jones to DE was a bad idea, keep him in the middle.

Nov 22, 2021 12:53 PM #37

@AsadZ between these things and play Willie Gay more, I think those are the big differences. Sneed has been great as well.

Nov 22, 2021 01:22 PM #38

@BShark said in Chiefs:

"Cowboys have the best offensive line in the NFL". Cowboys immediately give up a sack as soon as he gets done saying it. Then his brain just does a "uh I don't know what to say"

Nov 22, 2021 04:41 PM #39

@BShark said in Chiefs:

Troy shouldn’t being doing Cowboy games.

This is just my humble opinion, but while Troy would seem to have a conflict of interests broadcasting the Cowboys game, I believe he was there more for the Arrowhead experience than for his beloved Cowboys.

It's easy to tune out Joe Buck and Aikman for their banter, but they said on multiple occasions how incredible the venue and the tailgating experience is in Kansas City and how it's one of the best atmospheres in all of sports. And they're correct. The Sunday ritual takes a backseat to no one and I'm sure any broadcast team would want to be a part of it to soak up the sights, the sounds, the smells and the tastes that come with game day in KC.

Nov 25, 2021 01:37 PM #40

I have been thinking about Chiefs draft picks under Veatch.

Overall, Veatch has done an outstanding job in drafting Offensive players but the same cannot be said about Defensive draft picks.

Is there a correlation or is this a coincidence?

Nov 25, 2021 04:21 PM #41

Chiefs have a shot at the 1 seed still unbelievably and I still say they have a favorable schedule. They can’t lose a game, but I’m at a point where I think they might not…

Nov 26, 2021 01:04 PM #42

Having lost to Ravens, Titans and Bills, tiebreaker outlook does not favor Chiefs.

KC will have to win out and others will have to lose a few games.

Try and picture this , watching the Rams & Cardinals game - try and picture a 6'1 - -312 Defensive lineman - -running down Kyler Murray from behind in the open field - - lol t5hat's pretty dam good - - kind of a little yuck lol

Dec 14, 2021 02:43 AM #54

Chiefs note, josh Gordon in covid protocol. He's vaxxed so he needs 2 neg tests, 24 hrs apart. Guess he has the sniffles. Stinks for him after big day, well breaking out day.

Dec 15, 2021 08:59 PM #55

Chiefs going to struggle to win one Thursday with all of the Covid chaos. But - if they do win I think they take the #1 seed like I predicted awhile ago.

  • Titans have @Steelers, SF, Miami all back to back. I think they drop 1.

  • Patriots have @ Indy, Bills and @ Dolphins. I think they drop 1 of their next 2. And then Patriots are notorious for losing in Miami.

  • Ravens have Packers, Bengals and Rams left on their schedule.

I think at this point the biggest fear is winning this week. And Pat not getting mixed up in the Covid protocols.

I don't see a way the Steelers beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead. I think the Bengals will be tough, but if the defense is back to 100% I think we take care of business.. Broncos likely eliminated by week 18 so I don't think they'll come with much of a fight.

There is a situation where Chiefs can rest their starters week 18, and I don't even think it is that far fetched. Titans drop 2 of their next 3. Pats drop their next 2. This requires the Chiefs win on Thursday though... And I'd be lying if I said I felt confident now that we will be missing several key pieces on the defense.

Dec 17, 2021 04:19 PM #67

For two games in a row Pat is getting back in the rhythm.

He made several Pat like plays last night, plays that are so difficult but he makes them look easy.

Despite giving significant number of yards, credit goes to D for making key stops at critical moments in the game saving valuable, game saving points while missing 3 key starters.

thing about this game - - -Actually the Chargers beat themselves. they ha three opportunities to take the 3 pt for a total of 9 mor points. - The coaching staff decided to gamble cost them. If they would of kicked the Fg's the game would of never made it to overtime. I always heard you don't take given points off the board - -they did - -they lost

Dec 19, 2021 01:41 PM #69

With Pats losing to Colts, Chiefs are at top of AFC, what a turnaround. The #1 spot with bye week is crucial.

The next 3 games are going to be dogfight as well, all 3 teams vying for a playoff spot.

Let's keep rolling.

Dec 20, 2021 04:42 AM #70

Christmas came early for the Chiefs. Titans, Ravens and Broncos all lose too.

Bizarre weekend...The Lions beat the Cardinals, and Brady gets shut out at home.

Dec 20, 2021 12:57 PM #71

Yup. Chiefs now control their own destiny.

Dec 20, 2021 05:10 PM #72

KC might wanna try to make the most of it this year win it all , been hearing a lot from Gb people off their sites , course me being a Packer fan thats why but a lot of talk about Aaron ending up in Denver next year. Plus if Gb can't get Adams signed good chance Adams goes with Aaron to Denver, has talked about wanting to keep playing with Aaron could make for a stiff challenge in the Chiefs division if those two end up in Denver.

Hell there is a solid shot could be these two playing in the Super Bowl this yr.

Dec 20, 2021 10:44 PM #73

@AsadZ said in Chiefs:

Yup. Chiefs now control their own destiny.

Correction. COVID controls their destiny, (and seemingly everyone else's these days).

Travis Kelce, Harrison Butker and Charvarius Ward all tested positive today, along with 44 other NFL players. Most in a single day.

The good news is that at least Kelce (who was vaccinated) may be back in time for the Pittsburgh game next Sunday.

your right and we are already starting to see the Changes. They mentioned on the Vikings/Bears game last night. We now have games being re-scheduled to different nights - seeing larger amounts of players going on the list daily. - It's effecting the NBA - - NHL -- NFL - . I personally don't think it will get like it was with the initial virus but it's going to be bad

Dec 21, 2021 06:07 PM #77

Been playing in a contest this Season for predicting the winners of NFL games , doing pretty good , but just not quite good enough to win anything - - -of course.

On the National side of the Conest out of 58,846 people - --I'm 845th lol - - - -out of 58,846 people - -not to bad.
On the Local side of it out of 266 people - I'm in 7th - - again not to bad lol. - - I have gotten - - - - 144/221 picks correct, just needed to do just a smidge better - - oh well. ROCK CHALK

Sounds funny, but better this week than next. I think we can beat the Steelers with our B team. But I don't feel that way about the Bengals.

That #1 seed is so important. The bye week means so much considering the current circumstances.

Dec 22, 2021 02:30 AM #82

With so many going on the covid list, other AFC contenders may get rocked soon. Chiefs are on the short end this week, but Pats, Titans, Bills, Ravens could all get hit and lose key players for a game.

This could even affect playoff availability.

Professional athletes get into fights weekly whenever they sense that someone didn't "respect" them. The Chiefs were incensed about the Raiders logo pregame gathering. The NFL goes batshit over a sneer toward an opponent because these guys can be so volatile at the slightest perceived breach of the unwritten "respect" decorums.

But, nary a peep about a teammate not getting vaxxed and having to miss at least one crucial game, which surely disrespects everybody on the team, and their hard work over the course of a season, as much as any gesture from an opponent.

I'd be madder than hell.

Dec 25, 2021 03:47 PM #91

Not only a new kicker, Chiefs will have a new punter for this game due to Covid.

Dave Toub has the work cut out for special teams.

I hope that Chiefs do not have to punt much in this game, keep scoring on drives.

For Chiefs key will be to disrupt Burrow, DL has to come up big.

Jan 02, 2022 06:37 PM #114

@rockchalkjayhawk 21-14 good guys, 2nd quarter, 7:36 left our ball

Jan 02, 2022 07:15 PM #116

Just tuned in myself, but based on the score this looks like the Chiefs of a couple of years ago. Offense scoring enough to cover for a less-than-optimal defense.

Jan 02, 2022 07:51 PM #117

Smart gameplan by the Chiefs today. They realize that Clyde is injured (isn't he always? For real?), so they are playing while looking long game not running Williams all that much just to be safe. Very smart. This team is for real again.

Jan 02, 2022 08:03 PM #118

Bengals got some serious ref homecooking going on today, though. Makes you wonder if the NFL would like to see Burrow in the playoffs? Just sayin.

Jan 02, 2022 08:26 PM #119

Sad effort in the 2nd half.

Jan 02, 2022 08:52 PM #120

Just not enough effort on the defensive side. Ironically, Chiefs D was at their best on that goal line stand.

Credit to Burrow though. Accurate on those long passes in the clutch.

Now the Chiefs need the Texans to upset Tennessee next week while they beat the Broncos in order to get the top seed. Tall order.

Jan 02, 2022 09:00 PM #121

Stupid penalties again cost KC a game. Gave Cincy 6 first downs. And that holding call by unknown ST player #39 at end of 1st half called back a kickoff return TD by Pringle.

Wasted an heroic effort by the double-decimated (down 20%) OL. Just hope Brown and Niaang aren't out for good. Otherwise I am having way too much end of season deja vu from last year.

Jan 02, 2022 11:54 PM #122

Niang out for season with torn patellar tendon.

Jan 03, 2022 12:26 AM #123

You know, not into conspiracy theories, I'm not... But if that game wasn't fixed, none ever have been. Every time that the Bengals needed to keep a drive alive, boom a KC penalty. Guess they wanted to make sure that Burrow made the playoffs lol. They just made this one too obvious, even a novice fan would know.

Chiefa actually STILL can get the # 1 seed. Pretty simple both them and the Titans are 11-5. - - KC wins next weekend - - Titans lose Chiefs got ot

Jan 03, 2022 12:34 PM #127

And there went dreams of the #1 seed.

If Titans win at noon i borderline think it’s worth it to rest Pat, Trav, Hill, Jones, Clark and Ingram

Jan 03, 2022 01:17 PM #128

I am not sure if this is a good idea. If Chiefs lose to Broncos they will drop from #2 to #4 seed.

2 seed is still extremely valuable, at least two home playoff games.

I do not like to blame the officials on the outcome, however, bad officiating played a huge role in the final result.

It did but we didn't help ourselves. Chase torched us in the first half and we didn't switch anything up in the 2nd half. Trying to prevent a field goal we blitzed 3rd and 27 and gave up a 1st down like idiots. Just keep everything in front of you and it is a 40+ yard field goal in the cold. It was obvious we should have let them score when they got the ball to the 4. We never saw the ball again (idc if we stopped them on 4th, it was the wrong decision 9 out of 10 times).

Better this week than in two weeks. But still stings. that bye week is just such an advantage.

I concur that Reid and coaching staff should have at least analyzed the situation in letting them score on the final drive although Bengals got couple of calls in their favor which hurt the Chiefs

Jan 08, 2022 10:52 PM #132

Okay. Enough of that hoops disaster. Let's Go Chiefs !

Jan 08, 2022 10:53 PM #133

Crappy field conditions. Players slipping and sliding all over the place.

Jan 08, 2022 11:23 PM #134

Is it on purpose?

Looks like it's hurting both sides.

Melvin takes it away from Melvin for six ! TOUCHDOWN CHIEFS !

And two more on the conversion !

Jan 08, 2022 11:48 PM #137

Wow! Huge turn around!

Jan 08, 2022 11:51 PM #138

Dang our D! So off

Jan 09, 2022 12:09 AM #139

Come on clock !

Jan 09, 2022 12:10 AM #140

28-24 ! Chiefs salvaged my day !

Jan 09, 2022 12:16 AM #141

@nwhawkfan and mine, although I'm pretty bummed! Would've been inconsolable if we would've lost this one too. Gonna see what happens next here for the chiefs.

Jan 09, 2022 12:22 AM #142

Chiefs gonna be in deep shit if they keep letting QBs up the middle on long 3rd downs. That, and leaving DBs 5 yards beyond the 1st down marker on 3rd and 4th down passes to the flats.

Jan 09, 2022 12:52 AM #143

@mayjay yep

Jan 09, 2022 01:17 PM #144

Tackling issues have resurfaced, got to get back to the drawing board.

Not sure what Denver will do for QB in the offseason, Locke has talent.

Jan 09, 2022 06:56 PM #145

Pardons for being off-topic, but Cal McNair is a bum. A very wealthy bum, but a bum nonetheless.

Jan 09, 2022 07:18 PM #146

Welp , so much for the Chiefs home field advantage - -21-0 already at the half for the titans

Jan 09, 2022 08:57 PM #147

Baller
It’s ok, hopefully it will provide a bit of an extra chip to players and coaches.
Chiefs did not get #1 seed but they get 2 playoff home games provided they take care of business next weekend.

Jan 09, 2022 08:58 PM #148

Were packers resting the starters today

be interesting see who they play

Jan 10, 2022 01:55 PM #150

@AsadZ 2nd half they were, yes.

Jan 14, 2022 08:12 PM #151

Clyde Edwards-Helaire out again this Sunday. He practiced Wednesday but they shut him down yesterday and today. Third week in a row. That running back position looks mighty thin.

As for the good news, it looks like Tyreek will be OK to play despite the bad heel.

RB position is tough for injuries, unfortunately, CEH, has had a large number of them in his young careers. I am certain that he is under pressure being a first round pick.

As an insurance policy, Chiefs have signed Darwin Thompson to the practice squad, he was released earlier by Tampa Bay.
