I'm still confused by all the icons and why is my response in both these boxes?

@Crimsonorblue22 The box on the right represents how the markdown syntax you type will be rendered, so you don't have to guess before posting. It's true that the board has gone more implicit - tags are often not labeled any more, but usually mouse overs will show hint text.

@drgnslayr Ha ok, I had enabled a plugin for embedding twitter hashtags.... I've now turned it off. The author of the plugin might have thought that nobody uses single quotes except for tweeting :)

@approxinfinity what's the difference between favorite and up voted?

@Crimsonorblue22 Not entirely sure. We'll need to find out. But I do know that you can now downvote people's posts :) Also, I just noticed that in your account settings you can check a box that makes external links open in new tab. Hallelujah!

Just noticed that when @bskeet favorited my post, it told me he did, so I guess its not anonymous and sends a notification whereas upvoting is anonymous and does not notify. Or maybe that's not it, I'm not sure.

The thread tools are amazing as well-- we now have the ability to feature a thread or fork a topic.. Very cool

I'm going to try to fork this section to a new thread called Tips for the New KU Buckets site.

I notice that the notification box keeps popping up and will not go away until you accept it (using Firefox); I will have to check my personal setting and see if there is a way to disable it..

@Crimsonorblue22 Not sure on this one, your guess is as good as mine. I'm sure there's some method to it, but it's not apparent at first glance to me either.

I think the difference is that you can see favorites in a person's profile., so it is for reference purposes, whereas thumb up is to give someone rep for their post.

I added a News Feeds category and I pulled feeds from cjonline, kusports and wichita eagle, but only the cjonline one worked correctly. I'm reaching out to Gary Bedore about the kusports feed as I believe it should work with a small change on their end, and I'll see what I can do about wichita eagle one. This should be a really nice way of pulling our news from other sites in real time without having to manually do it.

@approxinfinity Any chance of pulling in the news feeds like you tried earlier?
