Getting ready to watch some good ol College football. West Virginia against Pitt. So who you got ?-- - wanna see what WV has, might be hard. Pitt is ranked 17th and good a really good defense so they say.

Guys was saying going to see how well WV- -D - Line is. said they have shored it up got some bigger guys that the Big 21 was trending more back to running the ball more, and WV has brought in bigger line to plug the holes guys like are 6 ft and over and like 6'1 - -& 320 lbs guy bigger we will see how that works out. - -So who you got? I think I'm taking Pitt by two touchdowns

Game Day for our Hawks. What does everyone want to see during the Tenn. Tech Golden Eagles game? I sure hope they don't score 44 on us like the Chippewas did on OState. I'd really like to see Jalon Daniels smoothly and efficiently run the offense, then let Jason Bean get at least a quarter of work. I want to see all the RBs get some carries. I'm really excited for our team, but I get this way every year for the first game.

I am looking for our ability to score and our ability to stop them from scoring ;-)

Also, no injuries... and look like they are in control throughout the game.

KU is a 30 pt favorite tonight according to CBS Sports. O/U is 59.5.

ya that running back a freshman began with a D looks pretty quick. hopefully we have improved in that area

Given the quality of the competition, I'm hoping this serves as the equivalent of an NFL preseason game: Playing time for as many guys as possible to gauge their abilities in a real-game setting, and hope like hell that nobody gets injured.

We may be deeper in some positions this year but still can't afford down time, with two tough games to follow.

Tough o-line! Nothing past the linebackers except pics, no penalties, no head to head! Good use of clock, like to see bean get some action. Good tackling! I'm excited, really wanted to go.

Only if you don't have a 6-5 or taller receiver that can out jump DB's. If you have a receiver like that, then a goal line fade is still a solid play choice.

Honestly I believe switching from chrome to white numbers has given us two scores

KU has generally had a short field tonight so total yards shouldn't be too high, but a 5.5 ypc is a solid number.

like they were talking on the radio. for over 3 quarters they were doing things we hadn't done in the past , things like not having to call a time out because of dis organization - - having to call a time out because of 21 men on the field - -to many penalities , sloppy play. I think it just look like the defense was a lot quicker to the ball , more athletic. - -Phelps / Defensive end - - 3 sacks I think he is going to be a stud. - -DEEP DEEP DEEP at running back.

Big step up next week I just want to see us play /be more competitive

Actually looking off KU Athletics box score and 304 yards rushing - and 205 yards passing - total of 509 - - Tech had 226 yards. - -Lonnie Phelps is a stud I think

This was still a measuring stick game because of how much KU has struggled to beat even mediocre to bad FCS teams in recent years and Tennessee Tech didn't really do much of anything until late when KU's starters were out of the game.

KU probably still gets blown out a couple of times this year, but I'm expecting KU to be competitive in a lot of their games this year and even pull an upset against a good team this season. This group has a lot of confidence right now and that do a lot for a team.

I'm still looking at 4 wins for this team and probably a last place finish or tied for last in the Big 12, but KU isn't going to be basically a bye week for teams this year.

Well I'll say this. We got West Virginia fans attention to say the least. Ya there is still fans that say it shoul be a pretty easy game. Yet others are saying don't sleep on Ku how even though this was an FCs school Ku look good - - Daniels looked good.

Think we probably open around a 12/13 point underdog

Another thing I noticed , for the 1st game of the year e really played clean. - -For the first three qtrs I'm not sure if we had ANY penalties, if any - not many. - OL was focus , on defense 5 sacks - -I think at one point we had 11 TFL'S - -think we may of ended up with more - -dam I'm not sure if we had that many TFL'S the entire season last year. - True not a P-5 but havin said that , just looks like a more athletic , aggressive , quicker team. - - Houston didn't look that impressive , hope we can give them a game. -- WV - -Texas Tech Even Iowa St might be interesting
